Yeah, I rechecked all the connections, the passenger is fine, the driver side on the odd occasion flickers. I spliced an inch off the transformer wires and wrapped the power around it as well, and then used connector caps as well on them as well. The passenger side is fine. You didn't happen to change your courtesy light bulbs did you?? However the flickering has gone down significantly, I may just need to warn them up. Other then that great job. thanks Rob.rjdmmfl1 wrote:
not sure about the amperages, I only know that the transformers is a must for powerin these types of lights... there is absolutely NO harm in hooking each one up to each courtesy door seperately, I'm just lazy, and took the lazy man's approach to save time!
I really think you should check all of your connections.. sometimes, the splice T-Taps don't get a perfect connection, being that part of the connection may still be covered with the wire insulator, if that happens, you will get the on off phenomenon you are experiencing... those connections (and the one of the transformer to the power ground) are critical. you see how small those wires are.
For the transformer to power ground connections, I stripped off about 1 inch or wire on the transformers , then created a slit in the 18 gauge power/ground wire supplied, and wrapped it around that... so this way, my power/ground connections are flawless!
sorry dude, that's just not good enough for me...spockrock wrote:

Don't do it just yet, let me play around, it maybe the transformer, I have everything on connector caps so let me see if maybe one transformer is more sensitive then the other. Lets try to figure out what is causing the problem so if need be we can find a way to prevent it from happening in the future. I tested the connections with a 12 volt battery so I know at least the connections are good, I am gonna break out the voltmeter and see if I can find out whats the issue at hand.rjdmmfl1 wrote:

wait until I get some more cash from the second set of orders, and I will send you an extra kickplate to replace which ever one is giving you problems!
well just let me know.. I've tested the three kickplates I just finished for 15 mins each, and they are all working perfectly!!! And so is my original kickplates... it very well may be something about yours... don't know what, but in any case, keep me updated!spockrock wrote:

cool cool, will do. Thanks a lot, I really appreciate this as I really have zero experience with car stuff. Whereabouts in sauga are you? I actually work in sauga, right by the airport.spockrock wrote:Mississauga, email me when you get them, I will help you out with the best of my abilities, and I am not a pro just a nerd.
Rob, it's not an excuse man. Electrical wiring is totally foreign to me. Have no experience whatsoever. Hell, I'm surprised I did my HID install right.rjdmmfl1 wrote:
That's a poor excuse not to order these Daniel, especially when you know that I'd be willing to do the install for you.. and due to the price of gas, if you drive down to San Diego, I'd do the install for free (or maybe like $10 for my time...) or we could meet half way like in oceanside! The install takes all of 15 - 30 minutes!
Ok updates, just as I thought the driver side just needed to have some juice run through it, no problems with the plates what so ever. Maybe we can give a heads up on this phenomenon to anyone else. Also about the door panel, when you pull the door panel off the door there are a couple of wires (look like your bicycles brake cables) still attached to the door. Put that in the instructions so some one doesn't just yank the panel off and potentially snap a line or worse and blame you because it wasn't in your instructions. Sorry man I am an engineer and we are taught on instructions and making them very explicit, other wise some one will do something break it and blame you.rjdmmfl1 wrote:

Right on the Mississauga/Milton boarder, Winston Churchill and Derry Rd area. I wont be more specific I just don't like posting personal information on the internet, but as soon as you get them give me a shout and if weather permitting I will give you a hand.hangtime23 wrote:

Sure, that's totally understandable. I'll contact you via PM once the kickplates come in. Thanks once again for this, I really appreciate it.spockrock wrote:
