I was just telling Greg this morning that even though the Frontier is almost 9 years old and she's finally creaking a little bit (just needs some bushings replaced, no big deal), she will always be my favorite vehicle purchase and I'll never get rid of her. Ever. However, I can honestly say that if she ever does die, I won't replace her with another Frontier, or a Titan. I'll probably go get a Silverado; an F-150 would be my second choice. There's nothing in the current Nissan line-up that I am remotely interested in owning.

The Kia in the OP is hot as hell and I'd own it (in a different color). I will not own an IDx.

For anyone at Nissan who is reading this: you keep doing your thing and Greg and I will keep doing ours. Every s*** modern car you build just increases the value of our old skool collection. :yesnod

Also, we will continue to build our community of die hard loyalists who love the cars that you used to build for the enthusiasts that we are. We will continue to restore, modify, and drive the hell out of the ones that are left. We will continue to educate the new fans and swap stories with the old ones in order to preserve the heritage that is great and iconic. We will continue to do car shows and motorsports events and show people how amazing Nissan used to be and all the awesome cars that were built during the glory days. Each of our cars have their own story and as they've come into the garage, they've brought some amazing people with them. We wouldn't trade those friendships for anything.

I fear for Nissan and the direction it has taken. I think you are driving away the very fan base you need to keep your brand alive, the young people. It's sad that you can't see that and that you don't seem to understand what people want, even though we have tried many times to show you what that is. I hope that the Nissan brand does not die. However, if that day does come, you can't say that we didn't try to save you.

Nissan has put style ahead of substance, relying heavily on selling to a vacuous, narcissistic youth market. We are now witness to a once vaunted car company becoming a mockery of it's former self. At any rate, Nissan is on it's way to becoming as irrelevant as Mitsubishi.

Who? :rotfl

It's sad to see how irrelevant Mitsubishi is these days. Not that they ever honestly made exceptionally great cars, but they had some fun models over the years. I'd love to get my hands on a Starion or a Galant VR4.

At least the Nissan model line-up hasn't started thinning out yet, but their lineup surely is starting to resemble Mitsubishi and really even Chrysler a few years ago. Who would've ever though that even Chrysler would be making more interesting vehicles than Nissan these days?

My wife wants to help her mother get a new car. I had a lot of thoughts going through our head. One being we could gift her our 09 VW Tiguan, of which I am a fan, and get us a new car cuz we can afford the payment, tiggy is in the fam and we get something new... but what? Nothing new excites me. even if we are strictly looking at automatics, nissan took itself out of the race with CVT.

Drove a 2013 versa and lets say highway merging with cvt is kind of a crap shoot. not to mention the over 70mph stability wasn't quite there, sometime I felt like I was kayaking the way the wheel bounced around. in city it was fine, but never was it "fun".

Getting somewhat on topic, I am getting more and more won over by KIA, even though I am not really a fan. But I have seen a few KIAs, especially tuned ones that make me think twice. This one is okay, doesn't exactly blow my skirt up in that color but maybe black would work for me.

If a get another shot at a clean 510 goon, god help me if I ever buy a car again... until I can import an s15.

yeah, mazda seems like a good choice right now. I already drive a protege5 so its not like I haven't stepped out of the nissan fam.

Their current competitor of the tiguan in the mazda camp look almost the same so my wife would probably be down if its AWD too.

I honestly love our Mazda2. I am so glad that salesman made me walk away from the Versa. The 2 is a much better car. It handles better, accels quicker, looks better, and has way better options.

+1 to the Mazda love.

Both Mazda3 and my Miata are dirt cheap, but have passion and purpose in design.

I will NOT be coming back to Nissan for a new DD.

Just got a text from my roommate.
His FRS got totaled about a month ago (got rear-ended). He works for Nissan and wont be buying one. Looks like he's picking up an NC Miata.

I'm even considering something from the big, bad bowtie when it's time to retire the Z.

I should have bought bitten the bullet and bought yours when you sold it. Loved that colour.

nah, they don't care. It's the only thing we can deduce from what they have been doing. They seem to think the enthusiast market is not worth their time. Message received. While my Skyline sits broken I am tooling around in a Mazda. I'm at full retard though, rotary baby.

Given the choice of those three, I'd still choose the Z. Better bang for the buck and Nissan has not neutered it.... yet.

Yeah the rotary doesn't appeal to me because I like torque. The BMW has appeal but feels a bit bland. I loved the Z, but it beat me up. I feel like if I do buy another Z33, it'll be the last Nissan I ever own.

Rather than go drop $30k on a new car, I'm likely to send my MSM off to have the LS3 swap done. Half the money, twice the fun - I can't see a downside. :)

^Ditto.

Although i'll probably leave my NA alone, or maybe boost it at the most. If i'm going to do a V8 swap, i'd rather pick up a cheap NB to do that to. Maybe instead of buying an FC RX7 i'll just start hunting for a cheap NB with a bad motor next :naughty:

I'd LOVE to have a NB with a fastback top and a LS1:

I like the Miata, but I'm not comfortable in it. And I'm not talking about new either. I'd be buying something used and around $10k.

I thought the same of one, but I found out it was just a stock Miata that was my problem. I'm 6'3" and 265lbs - I fit in my NA just fine.

The key is aftermarket seats or modify the stock seats. If you cut a little foam out of the stock seats, it will make a world of difference.

Miata is ALWAYS the answer ;)

I just happened to run across mine when I was looking for a new project though. I really wasn't looking for a Miata at the time, but it was the right price and I drove it, which was a mistake because I couldn't say no then.
