Key remote not programming

Hello everyone! I just bought a remote from the dealer for my qx4. The technician at the dealer tried to program it but it wouldn't program. The security would engage when locked from outside with the key. So that goes to show that it's not reading that anything is open to keep it from programming. The procedure that he tried didn't work. So I would like to know what would keep the remote from programming? Thanks

Hey man. Thanks, but I've tried that procedure as well as the technician at the dealer. Maybe I'm missing something here. But the key was ordered by the dealer using my vin number. What would keep it from programming though?

Did you check the FCC ID to make sure it's correct for your model?

I don't trust the dealer to put an oil drain plug in, much less something technical.

Well I thought if they ordered then it must be right. Especially if they looked it up by the vin. But I hadn't doubled check to see if it is a match.

I just did a search and it is the right remote.
