Search for FCC on the forum. For example: https://forums.nicoclub.com/topic604256 ... C#p6674318

I just checked on my 2006 M35x and the FCC ID matches the same numbers in his link. In case there was any doubt or concern about years/models being different

Noooo don’t do that. Ok so I found out 4 days ago the fcc discontinued the bu618. That’s why they are hard to find and expensive when you do. The bu735 is the new key to be used. https://www.yourkeylessremote.com/produ ... &year=2006

So being the “G” that I em I got a OEM off amazon for $62

Next when the locksmith programmed my key he had to use two different devices. One to get the car programmed to start the car the other to open and lock the doors. For some odd reason he had to do the programming separately. Now this could be bc of the key or the locksmith device 🤷🏾‍♂️. But he did tell me he has never seen that happen before. That one device is suppose to program everything. Also stay away from knock offs. ONLY OEM FOB. The cheap ones will last for a few weeks and lose the programming. Hope this was helpful

I didn't even know about the older number being phased out. I recently bough a key fob going by the 618 number. Looking at it today, they seem to show both numbers being compatible to it.
It's aftermarket, and has the correct chip ID, so we'll see how it turns out when it gets here.

I have a fob $50. I no longer need it since my car was totaled.

EdBwoy, did your key come in yet, and if so, did you get it programmed? When I bought my (used) car it only came with one key and I like having an extra around 'just in case'. That would be a great price if it works.

It eventually did. It arrived almost 2 weeks later than they promised and it came with what looks like an extra chip (I opened the fob and it already has 2 inside it).
I haven't had a chance to program it yet
