I tell all my friends to run solids but not everyone I know is as passionate as me around here. s*** adds up. I totally feal ya on the wanting to go past redline. Makes me wish I would have went bigger turbo and higher red line (anything more than 26 psi on the gt3071 at 7600 rpm is off the compressor map)
When my friend and I were looking at it on garrett's site a while back ago, 30 psi was good at 8k+...

How did you calculate the volumetric efficiency of your motor? I went with the rule of thumb 90% but either way anything over 26 psi you will be further and further away from the most efficient island and even more so the closer you get to the 50 lb per minute part of is the map. 30 psi is at like 65% efficient..... My intercooler isn't but enough to, cool off a hair drier. Lol.

I'm not sure that the 3071 will make much more power than the 20g or 2871 with the internal WG. Most that have made over 400whp with a T2 turbo end up going with an external WG.

Lets not talk dyno numbers. Lets talk trap speed. I trapped 96mph in the 1/8th with a stock block, stock cams, and a stock intake. That was with a 4.36 gear and running out of gear. With the HKS 264's and a 4.08 gear I bet I can trap 100mph in the 1/8th and 125+ mph in the 1/4.

You boys go try to trap 125mph this summer with the 3071's. You better not be on a rom tune and pump gas. I can tell you that much.

BTW, the car in my sig has tomie 260 procams, built bottom end, isis intake, and a GT30R in a T3 housing. My stock long block 20G car is quicker and faster than the 30R car ever was. And that's because of Nistune and E85. The rom tune will not get you there.

What a waste of money. $1000 piggy back and $10 a gallon gas. I've got $380 in my nistune and cable and my E85 is $3 a gallon. Beat my time slip......

I'll be back out in the spring shooting for a 10 second pass in the 1/4.

Spent a whopping $350 on the emu years ago and northern nv doesn't have available e-85. All we have out here is 1/4 mile. I'm really interested what my external wg will do for me with this setup but I definately see a 10 sec pass myself this spring. I remember some posts from you a while ago trying to get your old car into the tens, what happened to it?

Solid it to buy a house. It went 11.4's with the gt30r with the jwt tune and 93 pump. I have the 20g car, is300 i'm building, and a s14 with a alum 5.3L and a HP7675 on e85 that will be out this summer.

Damn! You were almost there with the 11.4! Definately worth it though.

I had $12000 in that car and I have a stock long block car with a ebay T2 tubular and a 20g that's just as fast with a much better power band than the 30R for less than $6000. My T2 setup will be hard to beat. It is getting hks 264's and a built bottom end now. I keep the stock intake from now on on the SR with a T2 turbo because I LOVE the hit at 4K:)

When doing stainless steel fuel line, do you replace everything from front to back or just the rubber? Also do you use fittings for everything or do you clamp some of it as well? Just wondering.

It depends what you're replacing it for. If you're just wanting reliability over the stock rubber, Chase Bays has stainless AN kits that still hook to the hard line and just replace the rubber. (It even comes with an AN filter) If you're wanting to go to a high pressure system, or just wanting to reduce the risk of your stock hard lines failing like mine did, Summit sells 20' of -6AN for ~$70 and then I'd get Chase Bays kit for the engine bay portion.

Holy cow! They are proud of that kit. $200 for just the under hood? I just calculated all the fittings, fuel filter, adapters etc it would take to do a full system from front to back, suply and return for $180.

Keep in mind, that kit comes with a filter with AN fittings as well... All in all, I'm sure you could build it yourself cheaper, though.
