Is it redundant thread week already? I've been dying to ask if hatches are better than coupes or what motor oil to put in my SR!

Jesus...

I went to lunch and this thing blew up

As far as Plasma goes, if you're prior Military or Active Duty and have had the Anthrax vaccinations you can sell your plasma for $50 a wack, 2 times a week and you get a bonus at the end of the month, totalling $900. That's how it works here in TX. Check your local yada yada yada...

Koshin, are you on the mainland or? I was at Kadena for 4 years. I was a GTS-t guy though In hindsight building a few SR's and shipping them home with me would have been the thing to do.

I like all cars and all motors that make good power and do the friggin hula. With that said, I'm a KA fan because it's every bit as good as the SR and it already resides in the damn car. The SR is a great motor, I've driven Silvia's over on Oki and some of them dudes were damn quick. But my general rule of thumb is, if you're gonna do a motor swap, install something that's gonna make real power...such as any SBC or 351 and up Ford motor.

But I have the KA, so the KA is what I'm using.

My first motor tossed the #3 rod at about 20 psi...at least that's what the setting was when it went. It was an oil problem, I'm sure of it, since the stock rods and pistons for that matter have been proven on the dyno to be good until roughly 500 ft lbs. That's where the rod starts to bend. The pistons really haven't officially reached the peak power point yet, on a dyno at least because people swap them with the rods long before they get there. That's all fact ladies and gentleman.

My new/used motor got a new pump and I shimmed the relief valve for more pressure

My only real limiting factor will be the FMU. I know it's not generally something anyone would use in any type of competition. Then again, I've never been one to follow the herd. I just have no real working budget, so the 4:1 FMU is going to take me to 10 maybe 12 psi of boost. I have a inline pump and a 255lph intank pump that will supply the fuel. I'll use water injection to kill any knock that shows up I might even run a 2 stage setup with one nozzle preturbo and just get rid of the intercooler all together...we'll see. Short piping might help spool my T4

In the end though, not only will my car make more power with less boost but I'll be quicker down the 1320...again all fact

I dunno wtf I was thinking, nor why I was thinking it.

Omaha only has the 1/8th mile track for drag. I'm down to blast the 1/8th though and having the showdown with everyone there is just to classic NOT to do. I'll be towing mine up...just in case

Just so I know what I'm getting into, you don't plan on redoing your entire setup and running huge injectors and a big turbo right? I mean, I'll still be game...I'm the kind of guy that will blow things up in an effort to win. I just wanna know ahead of time.

Also, I really didn't think a little 2510 would support over 300whp. 2530 maybe...but the 2510 can damn near be used for bad mitten (sp)...lol.

I bet she has zero lag. Must be a damn fun car to drive I'd use a different turbo if I had one...mine is laggy big time. TO4E with a .81 AR hotside .60 AR compressor and iirc a 57 trim wheel. Maybe I'll find a cheap used Holset over the winter.

my 2510 is maxed the F out for sure....my 2510 has a different wheel and have been clipped....zero lag, more of a circuit/drift car than a drag car...

If were gonna get really serious with it, and if were being honest with each other....I may have to change to a disco, but nothing bigger than that...I prolly wont change a f***ing thing just so when you blow up trying to catch me, itll be the same setup Ive been running for a year.....lots of people on NICO know my car

we'll have plenty of time to speak about this....

what are you gonna run exactly...

Ill be driving mine there, winning, and driving home....

If I were you, Id trailier yours there...

lol!

the only stipulation I have is

STREET TIRES....NO SLICKS or RADIALS

Im not being dooped into another "race my car with slicks/radials against your car on street tires"

not doing that....youre not going to do me like every f***ing pumped up Honda tries to do me....

street tires or no race...

we'll see where all that truck motor torque goes

thats my only thing...everything else is on

do you agree? we need to be halfway honest about the setups we are running as well....I just dont want either of us to get super surprised when we get there...

carry on

^^who the f*** are you? beat it!

this was a very useless post...

WD, what re the parameters as to which we should follow? stock bottem end, stock head, everything else goes? I personally think if we want to really find out whats up, we should limit injector size as well...

you show up with a 60 trim T04e with 880cc injectors, and I show up with my current setup...obviously I dont want it to be lopsided to either of our advantage...

And I don't see how my post was completely useless, I asked for pics because I thought it would add to the thread.

Dude...I'll be using drag radials. I don't drag race without them. Without drag radials you can't actually launch the car. Drag racing is what I do, I don't drift or do any roadcourse stuff. But all I have is 16" wheels from my Skyline man, so the biggest tire I can use is a 255. If you wanna be a puss, I can find someone else with an SR

My car is coming up with stock injectors and a FMU. That's not changing...ever. I have no money for anything else really. My head is all factory, not even port matched. My car has the entire interior and cold AC.

This isn't pinks. Drag radials are something I think everyone should simply because they are designed for straightline traction. For safties sake alone that makes them worth using.

I have atleast 3 people I'm trying to beat by the time Omaha gets here. Good times ahead for sure.

Ill tell you what, Ive got a stock set of SR injectors I could throw in on your behalf....

just to make sure its interesting...

I like street tires man, even on a bike....I will get a pair on MT radials and bring them with me...

I can launch my car just fine without blowing them away...

what size are KA injectors? the SR inj are 370s

if you dont want them its all good...just throwing out that I may have a full set

LOL!!! Fanboi, you dont have to be a "pumped up Honda" to race with r-compounds or slicks... It's called having proper tires. I have several sets myself for when I compete, ranging from run of the mill street tires (for class restrictions) to Hoosier S03's (for open regional autocrosses).

You also cant say "street tires or no race", you're going to have to stipulate a treadwear rating. A Hankook RS3 is VERY different than a Kumho Ecsta ASX and these are both regarded as "street tires". 140 treadwear basic borderline between r-compound region and "street tires" (thats the cutoff for SCCA Street Touring).

I'd also buy or borrow a set of tires that fit properly, as if you show up with "dope stretched tires", your 60' is going to suck.

I assumed that he would show up with some sort of M/T DOT drag radial...and I assumed correctly...I dont own a drag car

Ill be cool with runnning radials, the Bee*R will help

If you knew as much about tires as the next guy, you'd know Bridgestone Playz's aren't R-compounds... They're just run of the mill performance summer tires.

You may not own a drag car, but you're challenging someone to a drag race. You'll have to come better prepared than just radials if he's bringing slicks.

Drag radials are blah blah blah anyway...so we're good to go.

I could launch with large street tires to if I was using a small turbo. You have zero lag. By saying no drag radials and knowing that your turbo could fit INSIDE mine is kinda like saying..."hey Bri, mind if you handicap yourself even more because I'm actually starting to get nervous about this whole thing"....LMAO.

I have lots of injectors in my shop. I'm doing the stock injector thing (270cc BTW) matched with a FMU because I wanna see just how far the KAT guys can go with one. Plus I wanna show the KAT guys and everyone else just how simple it is to run water injection.

My whole build is gonna be documented with pics and movies. That way I have a great article for the DIY guys and a basic plan for the noobs to watch/read. Think about how many people we can link to this thread and the following articles.
