I like the way you think WD, a budget KA beating an expensive SR haha

as far as reliability issues w/ the ka-t, as long as you don't run a ton of boost w/out proper supporting mods like fuel and tune ka's are very reliable. I drove my ka-t at about 300 crank hp and 250 rwhp daily driven/commuted for 2 years before a bad walbro cracked the ring lands on #4

You should go to the KA-T section. They are pretty common there.

This things got to be fair though. I mean of course it will be a blow out if one is boosting 7psi and the other is boosting 14.

So how much boost will each of you be running.

I hate to say this but koshin already has the advantage, because i believe wd has an s14 correct me if im wrong.

the biggest advantage Im gonna have is that hi is a USDM S14 and mine is a JDM S13...weight MAY be the deciding factor. Even if we both make similar power which I could easily see happening, weight is the almighty difference. We are both using the same tire, just different sizes.

Boost is going to depend on what axactly he shows up with, we'll know his exact setup far prior to Omaha. This is going to kinda dictate what I think I haz to do to keep it interesting

I love E39 M5s...they are my favorite German sedan by far...the E39 was a sexy car

I ran an E39 M5 in teh Gloria as well and it pulled me by quite a bit...I needz more powa in teh Gloria

Its going down in Omaha in June

...and your car would be competitive, my car only make a little over 300 whp...thats no rocket by anymeans

and we dont know what Brians car is going to make as of yet, and that may or may not sway me from doing some other things. AS of now Im not changing a thing

The deal is...

I run the turbo I already said I was going to use and run less boost then you. Any change made on your part voids the whole deal since you knew what I was doing prior to your initial smack talking.

So you can keep your 2510 and the rest of your setup as is. You can change wheels/suspension and whatnot, but your motor and boost is set. There won't be any, "wow Brian's car is f***ing fast"..."better get a new turbo and a set of cams or I'm gonna get tooled in front of all the people that show up".

If that isn't acceptable then you need to say so now.

a deal is a deal bro...

I wont change a thing except my rear tires

..but what injectors are your running? originally it was 270cc, FMU, and meth correct?

I thought that was still up in the air is all....

No meth injection, that would give me a totally unfair advantage. I could crank up my timing, run 15 psi and make well over 400hp if I used meth.

I can't use the FMU because I'm a tad worried about that much fuel pressure. So I'm usuing the hacked MAF and a set of 42lb injectors. IIRC 42lbers are close to 440cc. I'm only using those because I have them already from a prior project.

Are you familiar with the hacked MAF?

Do you mind me using the 42lbers? I know thats quite a bit different from the FMU, but it's still done without any type of management.

Im not going to dictate what you run or not B...

...like I said, I knew that the original setup you were talking about running wasnt going to happen...

Im running S15 injectors which you know to be 440cc...

its going to be fun regardless of what happens...you may make more power than me but I weigh much less than your car so we'll see what happens

Ive heard of you guys running hacked MAFs, but I haz no idea what that entails...

elaborate pleez Sir

This puts it in words better then I could.

http://www.ka24development.com/hacked_MAF.html

The power/weight ratio will definitly be in your favor. That's why I can't use the FMU. It'll restrict me to 10psi... Since we're using very similar sized injectors we'll both be fuel limited as far as max boost goes. Should be interesting

just being a numbers guy, Im think that even if you make 50 hp more than me, itll still be close....Its gonna be a good time and one of us will get s*** at the end of the whole thing...Im perfectly fine with a good close race that goes in your favor or mine...I think that the equipment we are using is relatively comparable, tires are comparable, and youll make more power but Im lighter...itll come down to traction and driver, and hopefully doesnt become a torque shootout just cause of the 1/8th mile track...

its all about the short times...

Ive met a lot of cool people thru NICO and hope that after this whole thing I meet a few more

Or you guys might hate me...haha, its happened before
