that's what i was thinking because of the amount of boost. Maybe 2 really small turbos would be cool. More expensive than it's worth im sure and probably not even enough room....lots of torque though1

It would be very complicated and take up a lot of room inside the engine bay, not to mention it probably wouldn't be as powerful as a single turbo with a good setup.

Hope I don't sound like too much of a downer. Go for it if you like. :)

ya but its still fun to think about. One good decent sized turbo would eat the smaller ones up im sure, but wouldn't it look cool and be unique?? i wonder if there's any pictures of it out there. Or any 4cyl TT for that matter

I honestly don't think there would be enough exhaust flowing to spool 2 turbos...Now a twin charger KA, that would be awesome...

ive seen pictures of twin turbo sr's which has .4 less liters of displacement, which means less exhaust flowing through there so i think it could work.

Me, and a couple of my friends were contiplating the KA24DETT swap using Stock t25 turbos from the 300zx since they each push 1.5 liters they would be pushing 1.2 liters each. The acutal setup is not hard aslong as you are good at welding and the setup basicly would look like a mini RB26 setup. 1-3/2-4 Total cost? Around the range of a SR20. Power would be there, but again a tiwn turbo on a 4cly isn't the best setup, but it would be damn cool. We took a few minutes and came up with a rough skecth with all the dimensions. It fits fine, if anyone is seirous about doing it...I give them mad props and my help just because its ballter and one off.

ooo well there are a few exotics that ran quite a few turbos to make awesome power. The first example that comes to mind is the Bugatti EB110SS which ran a quad mini turbo system. Oh man would I like to see that though. A TT KA...mmm exotic. ha ha ha

this has been most of my reading today....I am thinking of a late S14 and building it up. KA24DET or RB whatever.

In the RB builds they usually go to a single turbo, even in Japan they sometimes go to single on the RB26DETT.

With dual turbos you not only have to have the space, but you have to have space that can survive that heat.

The twin turbo setup is great for show cars and magazine cars....nothing will get a crowd around it more. So if recognition is a priority that seems to be the way to go.....

I am going to try and check out the East Coast meet up in Tampa this November...I am about 3 hours away.

I figure there I should see exactly where I want to go.

Heres a thought i'm sure it would work but i have no idea about how to install it.... SEQUENTIAL TURBOS:) It has been done i don't know about a 240 though mostly big dragsters.start with a small T25 or T3 that would spool up fast but intern it would then spool up something alittle juicier lol maybe a T78 or maybe alittle less. i'm sure it could be done with enough money you might have to custom fab the hood alittle and the wheel well but it would put alittle more go go to your car:) If anybody knows the theories of sequential or how they are installed give me a shout

i think garrett has sequential turbos in the works for general depolyment. I remember reading an article on them a while back but I forget where though. It's a weird lookin bugger though, it looks like siamese twins that are connected at the head but instead of them being people they're turbos for faces...kinda reminds me of that south park episode with the buttfaces...

k, here's something i've been thinking about for a while, it's kinda dumb but... is it possible to connect two turbos together, so that the exhaust used form one turbo is then used in then second one, and then out. That way you make best use of the exhaust, just something tha's been on my mind. I doubt it's possible but hey you never know lol.

What about a sequential off something like an FD....they aren't that big, and would not have clearance issues....anybody wanna donate a ka24de for this project?

Does anyone know how much a custom exhaust manifold would cost?

about $250-$300 ride4lame i was reading on a guy's custom sr swap the other day and he made his own manifold. It looked ghetto as hell but it worked and did what he wanted. That price is assuming you had a shop do it. I think the only $$ this guy paid was for the materials.

A custom manifold may be closer to $500-600 for such a one off...it really depends. I know for my car which not too many people turbo, the best I found was $450 for a ugly manifold that everyone else had nothing but problems with and was just a simple log type.

Anyone happen to know a shop in the NY/NJ/PA area that would be down for building a manifold. I think i might actually do this.
