Haha I'm not about to put a 255 on a 6.5" wide wheel! Just wait until I get some 17x10's out back...then I'll get some 255 40's :chuckle:

Thanksgiving was delectable, except I had a fever by the end of the night. I guess I needed more cow bell.

My car wouldn't hook up at all on the ancient 235/50 tires that came with my 350z tires, they were original and pretty worn out.
It hooks up real well on the current 235/45 tires though.

Yeah, I'm on ancient Firehawks, they are a really crappy tire to begin with so I'm sure age doesn't do them well. I also checked, they are 205/55's, not 225's, so that's 20mm less than I originally thought. Oh well, I'll be able to put down power soon enough.

I'm about to rebuild my KA again as well as send my turbo out for new seals and rebalancing, and I started thinking about what will happen around the 350whp mark. If I actually get there I know the transmission isn't going to like it, but think it will hold up to the abuse? With meatier tires it's going to put a lot of strain on other drivetrain components as well, especially since I track it. Maybe I should start looking into the z32 transmission kit from mazworks haha.

:rotfl 205s

Dunno about the transmission, I know a lot of the old school Japanese drifters push like 400hp out of their SRs and stay with the stock transmission.
I think you'll be okay.

I've run 12's on 205/55's and cut a 1.9 second 60 foot time. It's all in the launch and application of power. You also can't rip gears and shock the tires loose. The trans will be fine until you start shock loading it. No dropping the clutch at 5k if you have drag radials or slicks etc. Your trans actually likes limited traction :dblthumb:

Razi that's what I was thinking about, those guys over there slide with their stock transmissions and don't have a problem.

Haha WD you should see these tires though...I'm pretty sure they have a treadwear rating of over 9000. The only time i'll be dropping the clutch at 5k is when the tires are already spinning :yesnod

^further away from it than you are. Is that going to be your next station? I was offered a position at one of the local hospitals today. Only downside to the job is that it is every Sat, Sun, & Mon night. But, I'll make more than I do now, I'll have a set schedule, and most importantly, it gets my foot in the door to get hired there after I finish the RN program at my school :)
