Truth is a Stock SR with the boost cranked up to like 14 will make about 250rwhp, a KA at 8psi is making 245rwhp. The KA makes more torque, the SR revs higher. Either will go fast, just depends on what you want and how much you want to spend (they cost about the same).

All and all I'd like to try a turbo high compression built KA next time.

^i agree with him...the amount of KA24de's available now is rediculous..id love to have 3 motors in the garage at any time, which is the problem with the SR, i cant afford 3 of them right now...i think im going to build another 240 for the drag strip, and use a turbo'd KA, just because the motors are easier to come by, and more cost efficient.....

and seeing a 550+RWHP 240sx with KA at 25+ psi was amazing, and didnt look that hard : ), hehe

on half of these post i can't even figure out if some of you are talking about a sr20det engine or a sr20de engine that was NA and then turbo charged. At least the early ones.

especialy the first post.

"while the sr20de is 158 HP and 138 lbs of torque"

I just found out today that I'll have to rebuild my KA-T and was considering doing the same thing...when you say high compression are you talking about 9:1 or higher? I need to make up my mind soon so that I can start getting the parts together.
