You just bought the car and I'm assuming you daily drive it. Don't worry about engine mods right now until the engine actually breaks down. By the time it breaks down, you'll have enough money saved to get a swap. Just daily drive it the way it is. If you want anything, suspension and wheels.

Oh and to answer your question: SR20DETI swapped to a SR and it made a world of difference from a stock dual cam KA. Swapping from a single cam to a dual cam isn't worth it unless you plan on going KA-T and for that much money, you might as well go SR. Going from a single cam to a twin cam is gonna cost you money + even more money to go turbo.

That really can't help me i bought this car on my own pay the insurance alone do everything for the car alone and they really wont help me get something like that they want me to be as independent as possible but i could try they wont pay the whole thing but at least give me something

Yulawthat answer helped me decide because i do plan on getting turbo and youre right it doesnt make sense just really i can wait for the money but i just want something i know i can get other posters say its hard to come by but i think i should just wait money part really doesn't stress me that much its just also thinking how am i going to convert it to a 5 speed yeah theres step by steps that i read here but im worried on how am i going to do it my uncles going to help me but i just got a little discouraged because another kid in my auto class told me im never going to do it like you know i try to stay positive just something like that could bring anyone my age down a little bit

I dont understand how you would want a non turbo SR. SR20DE, minus the T, found in Sentra arent RWD. So you can put it in unless you do some crazy modifications. So why swap for a non turbo SR that is as slow or slower than a KA?

KA24de= 2.4 Liter

SR20de, minus the T= 2.0 liter

1. The n/a SR is 100lbs+ lighter than the KA2. The n/a SR revs higher, and can easily be built to rev to 9k3. The n/a SR is as quick as a KA4. The n/a srs can be had for about the same price as good cond. ka's

both motors has their pros and cons.

i would keep the KA before i would go with a N/A SR20. just keep the maintenance up on the car and save your bucks you can pick up a Skyline Motor for like 1200 and mounts for 350 just drop in and wire up you got a skyline powered 240sx.

You can buy a RWD SR20DE on eBay for like 200-400 dollars with trans and all he has a 240 if i read his original post correct. these came from the Silvia Q's and J's

I think he means SR20DE which is a non turbo silvia motor the motor set usually sell for 200-500 dollars depends on where you buy them

As several others already suggested, leave the motor alone for now. just work on upgrading your suspension and brakes first. learn how to handle the car before adding power. then when your ready, work on the motor, there are many good options in this area SR IS NOT THE ONLY ANSWER. it all depends on what you want, KA-T, SR, CA, RB, VG, VQ, LSx, etc. and what the car will be used for.

I meant SR20DET it was a typo in the title. I decided to just upgrade to a DOHC KA and work on that. Its cheaper and I can use the money I could of spent on the SR20DET on better things.
