I searched the site and couldnt find the answers i was looking for.

I just bought a dual cam motor that is supposed to have single cam pistons in it. its a fresh bottom end, new rings, bearing and the pistons are new. the motor is dissasembled. since i now have 2 motors how would it run with the higher compression and a dual exhaust cam mod on the stock ecu and tune and what not? also i am wondering what is the part in the timing that nissan said was not needed? i need pics and input

thanks

I rebuilt my engine last summer, and ran exactly the same as what you have. The car ran well, wideband said it was running dead on, but the exhaust was black and smelled rich. As I started to rev the car higher during break in the "stock" felpro head gasked went bad on the 4th cylinder. I'm not sure if it was a faulty head gasket, a result of the higher compression, or an installation error but I decided to make sure it didnt happen again and went with arp head studs and a cometic metal head gasket. Id recommend going that rout in the very beginning. I have since had the engine running again, but the car is off the road for the winter.
