Want to stick N/A and want to break 200HP

Get the H22Aor the F20C

Im dead serious

Seriously why not just do a full SR20DET or CA18DET both are relatively cheap, and 200HP will be relatively easy.Whats the obsession with Natural aspiration?

uhh yeah, i know. its not like i lay in bed crying over it. i dont speak to her anymore. i dont want her around my kids so like you said..her choice.but back on subject nobody still has no insight on this engine ordeal..oh well. i guess i'll do countless more hours of searching and comparing. obviously anyone who posted "turbo" options took the cheap easy way out and have no engine building knowlege. i'm not afraid to take an engine apart..i'd just like to know proven power gains thru piston/cam/header/tune etc etc combinations.

Oh God tl;dr. If I did actually read this, it would probably be a bunch of KA and SR fanbois going at it (puts on flame suit) or people posting sensible posts. IMO, I personally like the KA, but it depends on your taste. If you want an SR, go for it. If you want a KA, go for it. They are very close power and reliability wise, so whichever you choose is going to be fine.

well since no one on here has the balls to take the time and try to go n/a and i have thought about the f20c out of an s2000..and the 1uz(i think) out of the toyota somthin or another..but i like to keep it in the family if possible. but i'll do what i have to do to get my to my goals regardless of the cost. no obsession with n/a..just dont wanna turbo car. been there broke that

If you don't want a boosted car, the KA can be built to break 200hp n/a. You can probably build an n/a SR too. Of course if you do that, be prepared to put on a flame suit when you tell people you have an n/a SR.

I prefer the KA because it came stock in the 240. It's easy to find parts for and it's a pretty damned reliable motor. The SR is easy to find parts for and reliable too, it's just the whole factor that I have to pay through the nose for a block and then pay for all the parts n s***. The KA block is relatively easy to find and it's cheap. s*** I'm getting one for 95 bucks and all it needs is an acid bath and a bore out and it'll be ready to be built. Also, I really don't wanna jump on the SR and Silvia front end bandwagon. I like my KA and piggy front end bandwagon.

dude..thats the exact reasons i am having a hard time. i dont wanna have to pay out the nose for parts if i break and have to wait for weeks to get the parts needed if i go sr...have you seen the fabled 200whp ka?

I have not seen it, but I'm sure it's not that hard to find. I suggest lurking youtube and the 240 gen section to see if you can find one. Also, Google might help. For your situation, I honestly recommend the KA. KA parts are pretty easy to find. A lot of people in the classifieds are selling KA parts at all times so you shouldn't have a problem there, unless you dislike used parts. And you should be able to find a relatively good condition KA block at a local junkyard or Japanese engine shop. I also suggest lurking the part outs section for a block. If you can find a low mileage one there, go for it.

Ill bet you everything youve got, when you build your NA street car...we'll race for everything and you see what you could have had for a third the monies...if youre gonna make ludicris claims and statements, and wont take anyones advice...why open the box of worms

yeah i'm done with this one..everyone has to be the wiseguy (including myself) and nobody can give advise where i am looking. and maybe every turbo car in the world would outrun my n/a car, but the fact of the matter is, anyone can turbo a car and anyone can get to 300hp with an basic setup, but to have the pride to say "yeah..i built it myself with lots of trial and error and dyno tuning" and not follow the masses. i think i'll take the road less traveled and build a car for the needs i want and something that isnt just slapped together. everything will be in balance the ground up and i will do my research and pick the parts i need, not the name brand that is popular at the time. anyone can by parts and throw them on a car, but is the car in a functional peice of art? i doubt it. i am ot by any means an automotive engineer nor do i know alot about the ka engine, but learning about the car chosen to be built (no matter what it is) is part of the fun. fun to me is not having a car that is uncontrollable because its over powered and the upension setup sux balls...please feel free to flame or whatever you like. i know what i want to do and i will get to my goals the way the old hot rodders did it. lots of trial and error and r&d. i'm off to learn so have fun being like everyone else........
