You know engine design, good low end torque -> hurt hign end hoursepower output , vice versa. So, why don't keep moderate torque and good high rpm hourspower ?

Without getting into a gearing conversation, I understand what your talking about with having a broad torque band. Thats where forced induction and a set of cams comes into play. You can also lighten the load on the crankshaft and have it balanced to raise the redline considerably. So now I have a great 4 cylinder stroker motor with a decent rpm and torque range.

The head design is fantastic, but they totally lack any king of lowend torque, which is a by product of no stroke, which is also why you can rev the hell out of the engine without snapping rods. But 9000 rpm and 200 hp with 130 ftlbs of torque isn't going to win any races.WD

How does your last post support the above statement, and my theory of "why you need so much low end torque" ?

I don't understand what your asking me...It sounds clear to me, of course I wrote it so that might have a little to do with it. If you'd like to further discuss this stroker motor theory and low end torque benefits, I think you should make a new thread. We've alreay hijacked this one enough.

:D we did hijacked this tread. Sorry ftrs13 L(

I know the benefits of low end torque. But you seem to criticizeme and honda ( for honda, I don't blame you :p ) Well, we will discuss this again next time if someone else bring up... :) is enough for this tread.

Later. PeaceGyfer

Not criticizing you, just Honda.
