You just answered one of the most asked questions in the KA-T section.

Small Turbo = Fast Street CarYou don't need the higher top end on the street anyways. Not like you can exceed the speed limit, and be safe.

Big Turbo = Fast Track CarMakes power up top to go the distance on the track. Drawback is lower 60' time. Not great for the street, and most probably illegal if you surpass the speed limit anyways.

Some more food for thought guys.

60' times are all about launch and traction. Not so much turbo size. Trap speed is more of an over all power output vs gear ration combination.

Just trying to make sure things stay factual.

IMHO, the single most important decision we all must make is not what turbo, but what output we are looking for after the build is done. Then get a turbo that will spool the earliest and yet still attain the compressor flow rate high enough to get you your end goal.

Lag sucks...period dot.

If Eric and I were to have our choice, I'm sure he'd have the SSAC bottom mount Mani fitted with a T3 flange. That way a .48AR T3/TO4 can be used, since it has the widest range yet the least lag to speak of. Not to mention, it's very cheap nowadays. That's a win win in my book.

If money is no object then you'd be using a twin scroll turbo. They are the newest rage. No lag, tons of volume...

That's a good idea, but what would you do about the wastegate?

Either buy one with a internal wastegate or weld a wastegate runner onto the SSAC Mani and have a remote external setup.
