ok so i have a 91 hatch with the ka24de soon to be adding a turbo, no im not going for outragous amounts of power/boost just a little bit. my plans are just getting

t25 turbomanifoldturbo down pipeplus whatever you guys think i need

im pretty much stuck on the t25 so dont come in here saying its too small and i wont get 400whp out of it or saying go t3/t4. i want just a simple turbo to run around 7 psi and to make me happy lol

i guess im asking what else i would need for this setup and where to get parts cheap. also i know i should run an intercooler even if its a sidemount but im hearing i dont have to. if its a you dont HAVE to case please dont say yah but its good to have.

questions about tuning as well, since im running the lowest of the low ive hear i dont absolutely need a tune unless im planning on going over 12psi or so which im NOT

so any advice/help would be greatly apprecited thanks

check out the first sticky, good info there.

a fmu and 1-2 degree's of timing retard done with a timing light should do the trick.

But ONLY for up to 7-8psi. Do not attempt 10 or 12 with a t25....

How hot does it get there? Most of the time a fmic will be needed, as the t25 will quickly start pumping hot air..

Well it was in the 60s all afternoon today, what I was getting at is-

A side mount is a POS imo, and should only be used if you live where it's cool year-around. The money you save will not be worth it when a motor detonates and blows because you didn't drop the extra cash on a fmic. (heatsoak will happen anyways if you do a back to back run on a SMIC...)

A full fmic can be had on ebay for 200-300 bucks brand new. Take it for what it's worth

Don't ever go over 7 psi with a T25, it's just to small. But for no lag and very low boost it'll still be fun. Like suggested retard the timing a touch for safety and I'd suggest a 4:1 FMU. This will richen up the AFR's on boost only and cool the combustion charge as well, so you can keep the SMIC. But I'd upgrade to a FMIC when possible. Cooler denser air makes more power. I'd wager a decent fmic will net 20whp over a smic setup. The smaller smic will be heat soaked pretty quickly if you're out blasting around or drifting etc. Be Careful, if you here what sounds like loud rice crispies stop and let the car cool down, even then it might be to late. The FMU will help though.

7psi is fun, a lot more fun than no psi. but it does not have any room to grow, and believe me... u will want just a little more in a day.i am running 7-8psi (on electronic boost gauge), fmic, emance tune, 610cc injectors, z32 maf, but already want more. a little research showed me that a few runs of higher than 10psi on t25 will kill it. 10psi will heat up the air so quick, it wont even be fun(ny).. its a lot of fun even at 2,3,4,5 psi, but without a fmic, u can be asking for a rebuild real quick. a lower psi t3/t4 setup will be much more fun, more efficient, give u room to grow and enjoy it safely.

if i didnt get those parts on the cheap years ago, i wouldnt have even gone t25.if u are getting everything for free or for a few pennies, knock yourself out.its safe, and reliable only if u either tune it properly or even an with an fmu, but dont skip on fmic.

you will definitely enjoy it, coz boost comes in just off idle...

I've not heard of the town you're from. But I just spent 6 years up in MA.Shoot me an e-mail if you want/need parts. I know a ton of people up there that have a little of everything. From PA, to ME.e_appie(at)hotmail.com

And keep us updated. I'm always rooting for the T25 guys.. lol

The 370cc/fmu combo would barely cover a t25 with e85, a t3/t4 would probably blow your motor on low boost.
