Its finally compete, and it runs like a raped ape. For the first time I have completed a problem with no problems. I just got it back from a friend who did all the aluminum welding and made my downpipe for me. Let me tell you, I am fully satisfied. THANKS KARL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Parts are as follows

I was thinkin about earls fittings out of the master for the little bit of extra clearance, but i dont know yet, ideas are welcomeclean engine money shot

Overall for never owning a boosted car. It's very snappy and fun.

Oh and KA-T FTW

Very nice and clean install man. Congrats.

I recommend a turbo heat blanket for your turbine housing, and a little heat wrapping on the brake lines and master brake cylinder. Just to prevent cracking from the intense heat the turbo makes.

On a serious note, my idea for clearance is to shim the drivers side motor mount about 1/2". Can be done with hard rubber, alum and even plywood. It's just a spacer...

That should give you just enough room to not bump/rub and let you install some heat shielding as well.

This is one of those battery less cars. crank in the front like the old days. But really thanks WD ill see what i can come up with thats decent for the shim, steel spacer or something that wont deteriorate. I am still gonna make a heat shield to go inbetween there. But the ideas are much appreciated.

Build looks awesome!

You and your friend should make those intercooler pipes and sell them... they're very nice.

Let us know long term how that OBX turbo holds up, since you know most of us aren't fond of them.

yeah its running but like every ka-t has somewhat of a small stalling issue coming out of the higher rpms. I will be a adjusting the iacv this week. But other then that, it screams, runnin about 12psi full boost at 4k and burns rubber through third. A guy i work with says it should keep up with his fully built KAT at 14psi and 313 hp. Im not sure if i believe him but whatever. If i were to give it a guess for Hp i would say around 260-270

Cool, so i'm assuming you have had no brake issues with that manifold because of the turbo/downpipe placement.

no it most definately needed a heat shield which it has now. i also wrapped the brake master resevoir in header wrap, and thus far havent had any issue. Although i have not taken it on any long trips either

Cool, i would think running 12 psi on a 60 trim would net you at least 300whp so i think you are kinda under estimating your power.

Any plans for dyno time soon?

260-270 sounds about right, since it's on a straight t3, although i'm on 11.5psi and my tuner estimated 270whp on my 50 trim t3t4...

no plans for dyno time, real soon. For sure will get dynoed this summer though. I am planning on hitting a local drag strip in two weeks though, so I should have some 1/4 mile times for you. And BTW GTR pride that turbo is holding good so far, not an inkling of shaft play, And Ive been beatin on her

Awesome. The more reviews we have on these cheap turbo's, the better off our community will be

Well as far as the tune goes its good AFR were around 16 at idle and 11.5-12 WOT, pulled hard through all gears and havent had a problem with the tune. My only real problem with the setup right now is getting it to not stall wehn coming off of revs when its warmed up. So far ive hooked the iacv feed up to the intake for the turbo and it helped very minimal. I have turned the iacv idle srew almost all the way out and it hasnt helped at all. checked for vacuum leaks and i have a phantom one by the iacv. But i am taking all of the iacv regulator and egr stuff out of my extra manifold and I am gonna try and run with a cracked throttle body. IF anybody else has any question suggestions feel free to throw em at me

That should work, if not, try a seperate vac line from the intake to a plastic ball valve to the intercooler pipe, and regulate idle air from there.

"intake manifold->ball valve->intercooler pipe,

adjust ball valve as necessary"

Hmmmm... kind of a long shot, but could your BOV recirc inlet need to be a little angled towards the turbo?

Maybe when you let off the throttle from high revs, the air let out by the BOV is going back out through the MAF instead of going back in to the turbo. Kind of the same effect when you vent the BOV to atmosphere???

I had this stalling issue, but I was venting my BOV to atmosphere, the moment I recircd it, the car would not stall. But I did put the inlet angled towards the turbo and also very close to it.... Good Luck

yeah im kinda thinkin im gonna need to angle it toward the turbo jsut a bit cause it is directly into the pipe like the shape of a T. That is one thing i will try

haha im might be forced to. lol i've been getting spark blow outs causing a popping noise in my exhaust while i accelerate at high rpms and the loss of power! like when the popping noises occur at high rpms, the car stops pulling!

i gapped the spark plugs closer and its gotten a little better, but im pretty sure once i get the ss blaster installed it should take care of the blow outs.

for the turbo/master cyl problem get 5 hockey pucks drill a hole thru and replace you motor mounts with them 3 on driver and 2 passenger side. It will kill 2 birds in 1 stone stiffer motor mounts and clock your motor for the turbo. That is what I did and it worked like a charm. I wish I had some pics to show, but I am in IRAQ right now.
