After starting up my new engine and seeing oil come otu the side of my block I was upset. I took out the cams and torqued down some more and then reinstalled cams. At which point problem 2 arose: Both cams were off one tooth so timing was out of wack and car wouldn't run. Wait one week....Towed car to engine builder and he sets the cams. Start engine and it idles high 1500-2000 and my a/f ratio is in the 9.8-10.2 range. Hg has a very small leak in the center of the head.ARP bolts were ordered 5 minutes later from injectedperformance be here Monday. So my HG should no longer be a problem after this. But why is my A/F ratio so low? Brand new ecu tune from entahlpy. I need to route my IACV to in front of my throttle body to fix my high rev, currently it is preturbo/after mafs. Will that also fix my rich condition. My fuel pressure was at 30psi with fpr line. Didn't look to see what my vaccum was. Although the first time I started the car orginially it was at -22.

IAP turbo kittomei 555cc injectorsz32mafsenthalpy tuneSAFC II hotwire is set to 5:5 since enthalpy was tuned with a z32mafs

That is the problem with it.... your adding AIR into the intake system AFTER the maf... the maf did not read that air so that extra added air is being pushed into your motor unmonitored... the O2 sensor then see's the lean condition (too much air not enough fuel) then adjusts amount of fuel added causing the rich condition. fix the IACV and that should fix part of the problem.

mine is doing the same exact thing. I put my iacv right by the tb on IC pipe and my idle is still way HIGH 1500-200 I think we have the same problem!!!

I disagree. If the IACV line is downstream of the MAF, then whatever air goes into the IACV line has been metered. Also, the ECU doesn't even look at the O2 sensor voltage @ idle. And the ECU also doesn't change the mixture enough under closed loop to go from 14.7:1 all the way to 9:1. That's a very broad sweep that just won't happen.

I think there might be a torn O-ring or something, but the first thing is certainly to get the IACV line back to right in front of the TB to get that idle down (if that's what's causing the high idle). Then, start lookin' for other issues that might be causing the rich condition, if it still exists.

My vaccum was perfect when my idle dropped down to 800rpms. -22. Motor shakes real bad. Kinda sound slike fuel problem. But all injectors are spraying and there isn't a tore o ring. Exhaust is clean, oil is clean, just the spark plugs foul out. I could fix it with my SAFC and might do that. But if I got to alter my under load a/f ratio my ECU is going back to enthalpy.

Same car as that one. I killed the first engine by spinning a rod bearing, had gas in my oil from leaking injectors 1&3. Got another KA which the rings went bad after 1 month. Smoked the first time I started it up . So I had my first one built pisotns bearing metal HG and crower v2 cams. Kept the stock rods. Now I'm sitting here for the past month with a built engine installed but can't drive it. Metal HG was leaking. ARP headbols ordered. He said my stocks ones were fine but I guess not. Should be mechanically fixed by tuesday.

He checked my stock headbolts and said they were fine. I wanted to disagree but after all I took my engine to him to build it. So now it's just more work for him.

Last night I started thinking.Back when I spun the bearing in this motor it had 2 crushed injector o rings..... I don't ever remember replacing them. However right now my car isn'tpouring fuel like it did last year, but it is probably leaking some which would cause my rich condition......
