Just picked up a new to me 2008 Infiniti EX35!

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Hey everyone!

I am a first time Infiniti owner and must say so far I love it.

My wife and I picked up a 2008 Infiniti EX35 AWD Journey W/Nav and Luxe on Saturday afternoon.

A huge step up from my wife's 2004 Hyundai Elantra!

Pretty low miles on our Certified Pre-Owned 2008 EX35 at 28,785.

Have not done much with it yet, other than tinting the windows. I think I will get the lower black plastics all paint matched. My Infiniti Dealership's body shop said they would do it no problem and guarantee it against peeling and bubbling for up to 3 years. They quoted me $600 to do the work properly with removal of the bumpers. Has anyone else done this? What have you paid? I am in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio so pricing of labor and other things is generally cheaper here.

I would love to do the Navigation override as I am not used to the voice commands yet, and I am also interested in performance modifications, and have read that G35 engine parts could theoretically fit. Anyone with first hand experience with any of this in the Cleveland area? My neighbor is a mechanic and I might start with a Brake kit or Exhaust. Does anyone have a guide on the resonator delete?

Thanks in advance!

-Dave

Do search on YouTube for Infiniti EX 35 exhaust, or something like that.. there are a few clips with modded exhausts on there. Megan Racing makes a nice exhaust for the G37 which is a direct bolt-on for the EX35. High flow cats are also available from Berk.

Would I be able to do the swap in my driveway? Any special tools required? What are the actual performance gains?

Good reads, but no How To Guides. I am looking for a step by step walk-through with photos if they exist? Can anyone help here? :)

I guess I will have to make some! My car is going in on Thursday to have the CD player in the Navigation unit replaced as it does not take or eject discs properly.

Once I get it back and wont have to worry about the dealer giving me grief over the Nav override and I have some free time, I will pull the dash and figure that project out and document it.

My neighbor is a mechanic and he says he can do the resonator delete in about 30 minutes, but recommends I just hold off and get Megan racing exhaust I showed him.

I am not going to get the Aero kit but I am scheduled to have the black plastics on the car paint matched by the body shop for $600 and will post photos once it is done.

Thanks for the help thus far.
