Well here's the new update. Venus sucks. I have two broken coilpacks, the Idle control valve is screwed up, the SMIC is bent, I didn't get all of the intercooler piping and the recirculatory valve isn't even there. Needless to say I didn't get it running last night. On a better note, the engine seems to have minimal oil coking, and for a completely cold motor the compression test came out pretty well (143.147.147.145). Other than that, things seem alright. I'll have to call Venus today and get the other stuff straightend out. Pictures coming soon.

IIAC valve is almost always broken...stuff gets set on the motors while shipping...while not acceptable, I think most of ours were broken...

If you need coilpacks I've got 12 of them now, lol...I should also have an extra IIAC valve for ya:D

I also have a stock SR sidemount if you need one (with all the piping)

Ok, new update. Venus is better now. They are sending me 2 new coilpacks and a new control valve, if they can find one.

Sean, I might take the piping and stuff from you. My concern is that the intercooler kit I got won't have the hot pipe (they ususally don't) and I don't want to have to have one made. As far as the coilpacks and idle control valve goes, lets wait till venus calls me back. Hit me up on here or email me. I'm at work right now.

20-80$ for a hot pipe made is well well well worth it! that stock thing is so tiny and restrictive its not funny!! if you are on a tight budget and want a hotpipe goto an auto parts store, get 2.5inch exhaust bends one 90 one 45 or two 90s then you cut them to line up to the turbo and FMIC pipe, then add couplers three of them unless you have some one to weld it in the middle, and whala a ghetto but better then stock hotpipe, i used crushed bent bends on my first hot pipe made a huge diff in spool time and throttle response

My friend is supposed to upload the pics today, so I'll get them posted asap. You guys are gonna love this when you see it....

My friend still doesn't have them uploaded to his site yet. I think I'm going to go back out there again today and just have him burn them off.

Yea, I checked it before. I had to add a quart. Plus the pan is dented, but I don't think it messed up the pickup. Hope not, I've started it like 3 times.

No, ofcourse not. I was JK about the quart thing. It was late when I wrote that, guess it didn't come across right. Sorry! It got drained and refilled.

Ewww, now thats not cool. Maybe thats why your rings are shot?!?! Luckily for me my compression test came out alright. Do you think it's alright to just bang out the original oil pan, or should I buy a new one? They are rediculously expensive.

Yea, I got a for sure price yesterday and there is no way I'm going to pay that. I'd cut the bottom off and weld a new on one before I paid for that. Well, I'm going to get it pulled this weekend, so I'll start work on it then. I borrowwed a FSM from Nissan and I have the online FSM for the CA, so I shouldn't have any problems with the wiring. We'll see how it goes. Wish me luck guys.

Well here's a new update on my CA install. I got it pulled from the clip. That was intreting in an of itself. I didn't have a engine lift, but I did have a chain hoist and some floor jacks, so I dropped the motor out of the bottom of the clip. It worked pretty well actually. NEway, so here's the new news. I pulled the transmission and found a 3 puck clutch. To me thats bad news cuz now I KNOW the car was raced. Also, the rear main seal was leaking, so that should be exciting. And lastly, I took a look at the inside of the intake manifold through the throttle body and lets just say I wasn't impressed. It was COMPLETELY coated in oil, so this motor obviously saw alot of time in the higher RPM's cuz the whole intake tract was coated in oil. Guess it's a good thing I got an oil catch can with my FMIC cuz I'm gonna have to make sure that doesn't happen again. The more I think about it, the more I'm afraid I'm gonna want to tear down the motor and rebuild it. I just hope my poor SOHC KA can hang on that long. She's feelin the 205,000 miles, I tell ya what. I'll keep you all updated on how things progress.
