:sad Doesn't hurt terribly bad, but ther gauze in my mouth is annoying as heck, not sure if I should sleep with it in my mouth or what. My lower lip is still numb, although a lot less that it was earlier today, how long will this last? The fridge is full of yummy food but I cant touch it  Well im off to watch some movies and wish I was eating.

How many did they pull? I had 2 (lowers) done about 4 or 5 years ago. It's not that painfull, the gauze is annoying. They should have given you a sheet of what to do/what not to do, I'm pretty sure I slept with the gauze still in there.

<what freaked me out the most, was the "frankness" in which they told you, you could die >

Haven't seen Donnie Brosco. Hope you like it. At least you won't ever need to go back and have any more wisdom teeth pulled after they got em all. How long can you not eat? I had to go for 24 hours once before a "procedure" and that sucked. I was only allowed water, jello, and beef or chicken broth(yuck). You should watch a comedy. Spaceballs comes to mind.

FBI Technician: What's "forget about it"? Donnie Brasco: "Forget about it" is like if you agree with someone, you know, like "Raquel Welsh is one great piece of ***, forget about it." But then, if you disagree, like "A Lincoln is better than a Cadillac? Forget about it!" you know? But then, it's also like if something's the greatest thing in the world, like mingia those peppers, "forget about it." But it's also like saying "Go to hell!" too. Like, you know, like "Hey Paulie, you got a one inch pecker?" and Paulie says "Forget about it!" Sometimes it just means forget about it.

Sad - I took open-heart surgery like a MAN, walked the hospital parking lot 2 days after (2 days before they wanted me to)... Got snipped (neutered) and went car shopping immediately thereafter... Got my tonsils out and played softball the next night...

I'm a WUSS when it comes to my teeth. :(

yeah, i understand. ive had two teeth pulled before, and it didnt bother me when i broke one of my wisdom teeth in half, but i just cant take knowing that there gonna rip them out with something equvalent to a pair of pliers. my bottom wisdom teeth are messing the aligment of my bottom teeth up but i still wont go and get them pulled. oh, just the thought...

I got all 4 out last September. Hurt like hell, and I can totally relate to how annoying those damn gauzes are and how they made my mouth dry. Wasn't too much fun. But wait till you start eating, then food will almost always find it's way into the molar holes. More fun!

All I know, is I definetly put my perscriptions of Percocet (sp) and Vicadin to good use! :D

yeah i know. but dentist=no work=no money. yes, i really am that greedy.

but when you think about all the damage im doing by not getting them pulled, im probably causing three times the damage than as if i just had them pulled. but im an ******* like that.

Being the pre-dental student I am, I've seen lots of teeth get really messed up by not getting them(wisdoms) pulled. Waiting may yield an abscessed tooth and more pain. Getting them out is really no big deal. I had steak the day I got mine taken out, although I know many people have more pain than I did. Also, it's important to use a syringe to squirt water at high pressure all the way down the holes left by the roots of the wisdoms. It's amazing how much food can come out of there, and if you let it sit it makes a perfect environment for bacteria to proliferate and cause an infection. Good stuff. Come to me for all your basic dental questions! I'm so cool...sigh...and lonely(obviously).

I want to get it out as soon as I can. I hear it hurts less and doesnt mess up your teeth that way.

I had all four taken out at once as well, and my top two weren't coming in yet either, and it really wasn't bad at all. They put on the laughing gas, and then the IV, and then immediately after that I remember walking out to the car with my mom helping me out. The gauze was annoying as hell, but the stitches were what pissed me off the most. Good thing those came out in a week. Overall, not a bad experience, just sucked not being able to eat real food for about 3 days.

Anybody know, is it normal for more than one set of wisdom teeth to grow in?

let me ask you a question. if i have side erosion on two of my molars right at the gumline, is that gonna need a root canal? it isnt too deep, just through the enamel. or is it just like a cavity?

My wisdom teeth yanking was great! No pain thanks to the meds, drooled a lot but ate tons of yogurt and jello. It was a-okay.

I got 2 wisdom teeth coming in. I thought about seeing a dentist(haven't been since I was 15, now 20) b/c it was jabbing into my gums and all but after some more growing of them coming in its like my mouth has adjusted although from time to time when I bite down into food or chew gum my teeth will leave imprints into my gums. Not a good feeling but I don't like dentist.

I figure since they don't bother me like they did they can stay in.

I got all 4 of mine pulled in back in August. It didn't hurt at all, but one of them had crazy, deranged roots and my dentist was having a pretty hard time trying to get it out. A pair of pliers, some blood, and 10 minutes and it was out. The guaze for the next couple of days was pretty annoying as well...

I got lucky - was born without wisdom teeth. Mutant! :borg:

Buddy of mine had 3 yanked last week. Being the considerate friend that I am, I offered him a fresh lemon slice to ease his pain.

Maybe we can get a bunch of NICO guys who have been waiting, and get a good group deal on the super sweet N20 and monster Vicodin pills.

If it's not too deep then it can be cleaned up w/ a drill and filled. I've seen that exact thing get fixed up and it was no problem...but don't wait!
