Aftermarket Headlights - Stillen is currently working on this. Unfortunately they lost contact/interest/whatnot with the first company and now they are trying to work with Anzo. Honestly, I wasn't given a time, but I bet we'll see these early 2010 if all works out.

Headers for 2.5 - Few weeks away! See thread here: http://forums.altimas.org/zerothread?id=387863

Turbo for 2.5 - Not looking into at this time.

Turbo/Headers for 3.5 - Not looking into at this time.

Hope that helps solve about 500 threads in regards to when/if Stillen is going to do this/that.

Apparently there is a problem with accessing and being able to have room to work with our small engine bay, and the engine being close to the firewall. Apparently for 95% of people this mod would have to be done by a mechanic with labor costing someone he said around a $1000 (which translate to $20 and a case of beer here in Alabama), and is deemed "power gain is not worth the cost." I personally think the Altima is being put on the back burner with Stillen and every company in the aftermarket business because of the new 370Z (which is understandable) right now, and the state of the economy does not help either.

yeah, what was mentioned earlier is the exact reason.. however, I know of a local company this is willing to produce headers for the 3.5.... but their price would be around $1000 ... but their labor would only be $600 ... again, for the +12 or so HP gain, i don't think most folks find that wihtin their budget... but if you really want them, I can put you in touch with the company

It's nice that they are trying to take care of everyone, but really they should only be considering that there is interest in the product and let the consumer worry about getting it installed.

Call them and let them know. I'd be down for the 3.5 headers too. But, as others have already mentioned, they are busy working on other cars at the time being. Add on a tight engine bay and expensive install-- its a toughy.

Normally I would agree with you but let me explain the considerations that we make when producing a part and why.

First- Engineering will come to us with an idea or test part that makes X amount of horsepower.

Second- We send that part to manufacturing and they give us a quote on what tooling, machinery, and materials will cost to produce that system.

Third- We go back to engineering to get an idea of how involved the installation is and what it would take to install the part and is that worth it to the customer. For example, would someone spend $1,000.00 to install a part that only nets a 12 horsepower return? Probably not, considering the parts would also cost around $600.00 so that's $1,600.00 for 12 horsepower? Most people in their right mind won't do that. I know I wouldn't.

Fourth- After evaluating whether we think the cost versus reward is worth it to the market we will try to estimate how many of these parts we will sell. Considering a normal exhaust system or header costs us around $12,000-$15,000 in just fixtures and jigs and tooling each we need to amortize that cost over the projected number of systems we hope to sell.

So basically what it comes down to is...Do we think that we will sell enough headers that will cost the average consumer $1,600.00 to justify spending around $12,000-15,000.00 up front to build all of our fixtures and jigs and devote the hours of development and R&D time?

The answer on this particular product: More than likely not...

We're all enthusiasts here and we love to make all kinds of parts but we also need to think about what keeps the lights on and what the return on investment will be...It's a fun business, but at the end of the day it's still a business.

You guys also need to consider if you get 3.5 Headers and that is if your state does emmission testing...with them you are sure to fail so keep that in mind also and its not gonna be an easy task to swap back to stock just to pass. You better know somebody in that case or keep the car on the trailer. So IS it worth it!

and to Stillen, any idea how the lights will look? i know its still in the early phases but any general ideas of how they'll look? like halos or demon eyes (i think thats what they're called) and LEDs? and if yes to LEDs, it it going to be just 3 like the generic ebay ones for every car or will it be a nice strip like Audi and like dangeris's car? or will there be multiple styles?

Can you take that reasoning and apply it towards a set of projectors? If you can, would personally hope for /want a set that would be as efficient as the ones available in the Infiniti G37 sedan.

Hey Guys,

So I have some good news. In talking with the headlight manufacturer I have found out that they are expecting their first shipment in 3 to 6 weeks.

I'll keep you all informed as we get closer!

First shipment of Prototypes out for testing or is that phase completed and it would be their first shipment of lights to the suppliers?

and...just because I want to use the icon...

for folks with brand new cars, emission testing doesn't need to be done for like 5 years right? anyway, that's definitely something that sucks about Cali... not of particular concern to me and the rest of the folks that won't be doing emission testing though

For the record...I HATE MODIFYING O.E. OR REPLACING O.E. LIGHTS WITH AFTERMARKET LIGHTS...I have never once had a good experience with it until this manufacturer. When they first came to us to have us carry their product line I told them that I hate aftermarket lights and I could not, in good conscience support a product that I did not believe in. They told me that they understood my concerns but they would appreciate it if I gave them the opportunity to fail.

So, I installed a set of lights on to my truck. I installed their projector headlights with halo rings and LED tail lights. For those of you who have ever heard me rant about wiring, you'll know I don't like doing any sort of wiring. Kyle + wire = fire.

http://blog.stillen.com/instal...undra/

I have now had these on my truck for about four or five months and I can honestly say that I absolutely love them. They were pretty easy to install and I am very impressed with their light output as well as their clarity.

Most aftermarket lights that I've ever seen start to leak or fog up over time. Part of my test procedure on these lights was to try to make them do that. I literally sat there with a hose and sprayed the front of the truck for a loooooooooong time to try to find the leaks and try to make them fog up and I couldnt do it.

Overall, I am very impressed with these lights. They are top quality in every sense of the phrase and I trust them 100%

Sounds great Kyle! When do we get to see some of these quality aftermarket lights for the coupe?

+1 to hatred of wiring.

Are we going to see pictures of the headlights or did I miss them?

Yes... The headlights should be out in around 2 months...

Obviously there are hickups in production sometimes, but there is confirmation that they are actually being produced, which is the huge news!

Do you know if they are making some for the sedan?
