mcheddadi, wish we could be of more help, but I think there's a total of like 5 of you guys on the forum that bought the full monty with the coupe... but looking at the instructions you posted, this doesn't look that difficult at all... I would say go for it, but if you jack something up while playing with the service menus, i don't want to be the blame... stealership it is....

I've installed my intake!!!!

It's soo awesome!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOWW!! from 4k rpms to redline, this thing is a BEAST! the VQ sound godlike with that intake! and I noticed I get MUCH better low end acceleration! Man I know now why intakes are soo popular around the forums! lol! INTAKES! INTAKES!!!

And BTW It took me 2 hours to install (with 0 degree cold weather lol), and overall its was very n00b friendly

happy holidays!
Wow, you make the intake sound awesome, makes we want to order it NOWWwwWw. I think I've posted at least twice on this board that I was ordering, but I didn't end up doing it yet. My workplace might be re-locating and would increase my commute by 40 miles.... Probably wouldn't want an intake for a long commute because the sound might get annoying after an hour drive,,, yes no maybe?, and the gas mileage might drop for such a long a$$ ride. so I might hold off a bit longer and see what happens w/ work...

But I did order winter tires~! phew... They should be here any day now. 16" w/ steel rims, cheap and TOUGH!

just to correct previous, winter tires weren't that cheap, got the Alpin PA3's,,, but tirerack.com has better prices than any local tire store was offering me,, talking hundreds of dollar less.

congrats on the new intake!!

This does lead to a couple questions I have. I have a 2.5s. So either a drop in or other intake would help the sound a little? Its something I definitely would like to do. My previous car (98 corolla) had a drop in and it really didnt make that much of a difference in sound so I was wondering if maybe since the Altima has a larger engine, maybe the drop in would have a better effect? Though, I have been eyeing up this Injen intake as well. I just dont want the sound to be too loud, ya know? Any input you guys can give me would be great!! Thanks!!

Congrats again on the new intake!!

If the after market intake supposedly allows the engine to breathe easier and therefore cough up more horsepower at most RPMs, why would gas mileage sufffer? Should'nt we get slightly better gas mileage cause the engine does not need to work quite as hard to propel you forward thanks to the new intake? It should actually help mileage (a tiny bit), right?

if you're cruising during the day and you're doing about 70-80 your RPMs should be around low 2000s ..... should not notice much noise at all

You can search YouTube for "Altima 2.5 Intake" and you will get results. It'll give you a rough idea of what the intake sounds like. For me, I put a K&N drop-in into my 2.5, mainly because I didn't want the excess sound and because the drop-in is much cheaper.

I've been kinda busy so that's why I haven't yet replied. I have some great news!!!

My guiding lines fixed themselves!!

It's a normal behavior for people with the NAV. after the battery is disconnected, you need to ride with the car a little and before the next day they should have recalibrated themselves! So nice! I won't have to go to the stealership at all!

Oki now for the driving impression. the intake is AWESOME! first of all, it does NOT increase fuel consumption. it does make the throttle response quicker, so you might want to "recalibrate" your feet, because if you don't, you'll end up reeving more than usual (and since it sound soo awesome you won't want to stop lool, hence the mpg increase). I actually noticed a mpg decrease, I'll confirm this in a month or two after the mpg average becomes steady.

Second, the noise. for normal daily driving its awesome! you barely notice it as long as you stay below 2500rpm (at 60mph, i'm at 2100rpms on 6th gear). no annoying hum, buzz, bass or whatever. Just a very subtle rapid pulse. much like a cat. but as soon as you step on it you hear that purrr transform into a gutsy roar! and If you downshift with WOT it's like a volcano!

I don't know if a 2.5S would benefit much from it tough. it might sound a little more high pitched that the v6, but from what I heard on youtube it still does sound good.

and congrats pcpower on the pa3 alpins! those suckers are like super glue on the road, plus they have the highest wear resistance of all the performance winter tires out there. I'm gonna keep them for at least 6 years . On dry roads they perform even better than the stock 4 season ones.

so anyways the intake rocks, and the winter tires too!

when you guys installed your intake. What did you do with the breather hose coming from the bottom of the engine. It was connected to the bottom of the factory airbox? Also did anyone notice a difference in the air smell with the heat on?

I wedged it between my heat shield and my intake filter.

and I didn't notice any particular smell

Does that mean that you left the breather hose end open to ambient air? If so, is that OK? Thanks.
