Most us haven't nor plan to go more than 1.5"-2" drop on our Q's. There are a few hardcore guys who have big drops but they are the ones that aren't concerned about the smooth ride, they just want the style. To each their own. I haven't lowered mine yet but plan to. Some others I'm sure will chime in and give you some experienced advice on the subject.

Ride quality when lowered is wonderful. I remember driving away from Stillen after getting the Eibach/Blues/Stillen FSTB set up and my smile was so big I thought I was in a brand new 5 series bimmer with the sport package. They also put new bump stops.

3.5" is and would be ridiculous on a Q. Most of us around here have lowered our cars 1" maybe 2. Look at Falk's sig photo. It looks as good as 97/01 Q can possibly look. How it rides I don't know.

You also have the most beautiful Y33. I LOVE the back (tail lights) of the 99/01. I'm not too crazy about the 97/98.

I would definitely do whatever Falk and now Q-Ship have done.

As far as your wheels..... I'm not crazy about those black ones, however color is something that is definitely a matter of choice. I don't have a very strong opinion on that. The wheel wells on the 97/01 body style Q is something that I DO have an opinion on. I've NEVER liked it. Looking at Falk's Q though, I'd say he's got the answer.

Thank you for your replies.

A simple question for the guys who've lowered then....

Is a lowered q45 going to make the ride too harsh for my clients who ride with me, and is bottoming out on driveways and such an everyday concern?

My Q rides amazing. Of course, I don't have stock shocks either, but other people I've sold the Tein's to that ride on stock shocks say they still ride very well, as long as the shocks / struts are in good shape. I also have very low profile tires on 19" wheels, my folks were just in town and my Dad said he was impressed how well it rides. I personally wouldn't change it for anything.

As far as bottoming out, I haven't had any problems except one garage where the angle at the top is just too sharp, so I just park it downstairs at that particular location. I creep over speed bumps though, some around here are pretty high, so I just go slow over them, mainly I'm talking about the parking lot variety, the neighborhood ones are more gently slopped so they're no problem at all.
