sweet, pabst kicks *** when your broke.

yes its going to be a ls1

why?

the time has come for horsepower, she served me good at ~250 for a couple years but i need to step up my game if i want to be competitive on a higher level now that im licensed. why not upgrade the rb? if i wasnt going to be traveling and racing, i would. what if im 1000 miles from home, and something breaks? ya im basically ****ed for that event. its kinda hard to find a CAS, or TPS, or coil pack for a RB when you dont know anyone in the area. whereas if i have the ls1, i can walk into autozone and buy everything i need.

a little part of me is sad to see it go (if someone buys it, check sig haha). i bought this car to put that engine in. literally. and its been GREAT to me over the 3.5 years its been in and the 2 ive been track-only with the car. but its time for a change hehe

so hate me if you must, but for me its a smarter decision

Solid logic there Joe. I'm a big fan of the ls motors myself.

and sorry, no windshield banner for 2 reasons

1) the series i drive in make me run a top banner

2) that space costs money to rent

alot lighter than an RB and comparable with a KA's weight. An all aluminum v8 and alot less weight in front of the front wheels than the I6 motors. Better dynamics i would say. However, the transmission is gonna be HEAVY, lol.

So i guess you'll be going with the general lee paint scheme now huh?

your reasoning for getting rid of the RB is understandable. if i blew up my motor to the point where i cant salvage it, i will swap in a LS1. it will get the local chevy boy's panties into a bunch

I hear ya Joe. I figure in about a year or two I will try and sell my swap to buy either a 1200 Sportster or Dyna. But maybe I should just focus on getting it running first Who knows, maybe it will all change...

If I would not have already purchased my 25 half-cut a year ago, I would have went LSx :-\ Oh well. I'm interested to see how this works out for you!

And you are right with your logic about parts availability... Plus, How many people know what an LS1 is VS. an RB2x. And you don't have to 'adapt' anything to work.

I say good for you! seriously.

I definitely approve of the swap, only I work for a GM dealer and I see enough LS series motors that I don't want one in my own car. However good luck with it mate!
