Juke...Want To Get One?

The Juke made its debut at the NY auto Show yestreday. The US version brings an MR16 base turbocharged gasoline engine with 180+ HP. All I need to do is find a wrecked one in a year and swap the turbo kit over to the Versa. The 1.8L MR18 should put out 200+hp pretty easy.

I don't know about engines and all that stuff, would this make the car a lot faster? Would it drink more gas? Don't laugh, I know I'm a car-idiot.

Turbocharging it may actually drink less gas because the combustion process will become more efficient. IF you can keep your foot out of the gas all the time. For me, yeah it'll suck more gas because I will be driving it a lot harder.

These days, I'm going to be concerned about gas consumption rather than a cool looking car. Think I'll stick with the Versa for now. Really don't want to flip my lease for a brand new model until we know more about it. More and more folks are really hating the Juke design. I think it's good looking but I still want to see it in person.

I think the MR18 will produce more but need a few minor tweeks, overall a win win for all us V owners finally some bite to go with the good handling

The MR18, while relatively new, is already a generation behind the emerging common rail direct injection systems... I'll take the smaller displacement turbo with common rail injection any day...

I just finished driving a Juke for the last 7 days (Versa needed new tires). I have to say it was incredibly fun to drive. I did not expect it to be nearly as good as it was. Although after getting back my Versa I've become determined to make an Versa with Juke motor/drivetrain.

The worst part of the Juke has to be getting out of it. You have so much fun driving it, only to exit the vehicle and remember how ugly it is (to each their own).
