I ordered and paid for two spin turn knobs from JSpec over a week ago and in my payment I asked for a confirmation number and or tracking number for my payment. I knew it was christmas time and they would be busy, but I figured an email could be sent in a couple days. Still no email.

I went to their sight and saw that on their main page they said they were going to be a little slow, and I also went to their FAQ section and read this.............

I've email you guys but no reply?

Sorry, the reasons why we don't reply email fast or never reply are: 1. our aol email server sometime don't receive emails(aol suck), but too many people have our email address already so it's too late to change. 2. sometime we hit reply and send the email and we get email back stating email demon such and such 3. the person ask alot of questions so it'll be answer last. 4. we don't have the item of interest, or city and state info. 5. sometime people email [email protected] which is NOT our email address.

So I figured the best way to get a hold of them was to call them. I went and called on Monday. No one answered, so I called again later that night, and no one answered again. I left a message expecting to hear from them on Tuesday, no callback. I call them again on Thursday, no one answers. I callback again and leave a 2nd message after no one answers.

Today on Satruday I get a very rude message from a person from JSpec telling me not to call again and to email them. They said I should not call again and calling was not the way to get tracking and or confirmation numbers.

WTF!?!?!?!?! I tried to be nice to them and tried to give them time, a whole business week. I didn't expect my part to come in but I did expect some decent communication. I have lost all respect for this company and this will be the last time I ever look to spend my hard earned money from there again.

P.S. I obviously never emailed them cause in their FAQ they even said they never or rarely write back.

Wouldn't you be pissed!

Seems like everyone's having hell with companies lately, so I'll throw in some good words. First, thanks to http://www.1stnissanparts.com/default.php for a totally awesome experience(so far) with communication. I ordered a NISMO shift knob from them on Wednesday. The next day I got a confirmation email, and the day after that I got a "temporarily out of stock" email, saying they'd ship it by Monday (and the knob was literally 20$ cheaper from them than anywhere else, so I can take the wait). Second thanks to http://summitracing.com/ for my B&M. I ordered it Wednesday night, got a confirm email the next day, and got the part this afternoon! I definitely recommend 1stNissan for OEM replacements and whatever NISMO stuff is available. I also recommend Summit Racing for any performance parts they have, though some of the brands suck (well, they have to make money, so they have a lot of APC and stuff), when you find something their shipping is fast and communication is awesome!

jspec, sam, is a real cool guy...offers advice etc...and trys to help you out i think he might be out of town but has someone doing the shipments, my friend has bought many products off him and has never ran into a problem, and personally the products jspec carries are better than the sponsor stuff, especially the used items section for the 240sx

I'd buy from our sponsors if they sold stuff for my car. I definitely looked to the sidebar first and went through literally every link twice. I didn't find what I was looking for, so I went with a friend's recommendation. Every time I buy something I'll check the sidebar first, but the aftermarket support for my car can be a bit spotty, with a lot of things that aren't said to fit, but might... or something... or no one really knows... etc...

it seems that people are not being screwed by non-sponsers exclusively-i for instance have been screwed by a former sponser along with many other members-specificly flash options-

let this be a lesson-if you want reliable products and customer service do business face to face-this way the company cannot ignore calls and emails

Fred, we know you're frustrated. It would make sense that our sponsors might get po'ed cause we're talking about buying from other companies. It's all cool man, like I said, I certainly look there first (well, after the local shop) and I think the majority of the rest of the board members do too.

I have Purchased from , Enjuku, HeavyThrottle, Phase 2, and Tire Rack.

I have had good luck with them all :)

Special props out to Enjuku, they have spent a good amount of time helping me.

But I spread my money around to the shops that treat me right and give me the best price.

I have to add that Projectsilvia is also an excellent source.

Thanks to all tho.

our side of story.1. if you read what you post from site, it never says not to email us. it just explain why we don't reply to emails sometime.2. payment was received saturday the 13th and item was ship out 16 Dec 2003 RUBIN DASTOOR UPS Ground Service 1ZY1740Y0393087305 ups send email automatic with tracking info.Service: UPS Ground Service *Guaranteed By: End of Day, Tues. 23 Dec. 2003 E-mail Notification 1: [email protected] . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . No Charge E-mail Failure Notification: [email protected] . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . No Charge 3. you called 3 times for tracking info within week of jan 15 to 19th asking for tracking number never even bother to email us for it. would you rather have us spend time giving you tracking info over the phone or shipping your part out?it would slow us down on shipping if we answer all the phone calls.we have done business with many 240sx owners and most are patience and understanding, all we ask for is to check your own email for tracking number or email us for tracking number.wither you want to buy from us or not it's you to decide, but it's not fair to post on a forum just one side of the story.thank you,

Jspec......I would have to agree with Former 240 S14, that statement about e-mail would have me believing it a waste of time to send you an e-mail. Maybe you should change it?

I can understand the misunderstanding you guys had, but IMO you should have simply called him and answered his questions politely instead of giving excuses or an attitude.

Whatever happened to "the customer is always right"? It seems as a lot of companies now have the attitude that the buyer owes them something.

Biting the hand that feeds.............somewhat counterproductive.

Anyways, not saying that you are like this jspec, just making an observation.

It dosen't take very long to answer a phone or make a 40 second phone call to give me a tracking number. You obviously had enough time to write up a post on here, shouldn't you be spending your time sending other peoples stuff out while you wrote up that post? If you put in your faq that you don't reply or aren't fast to reply with email why would I even bother. Not to mention I asked for a tracking number with the message option on my paypal account transfer.

Thanks for posting your side of the story also, you are absolutely correct about how they all should know. I want them to make up their own decisions anyways.

these seem like piss poor excuses from a company that isn't interested in staying in business for the long run-if answering phones for a business is such a waste of time then why do so many companies have phones?

this seems like an attempt to avoid confrontation and to do business when you feel like it-imo a pretty poor method of business

Fred...

It's not so easy commiting to sponsors eh?

But from a car guy standpoint, they should understand the situation most of these guys are in. They're broke, they look for the best deals...

My advice, if you find a cheap part, bargain with the sponsors, best of both worlds...

wow, anyone here bashing jspec obviously doesn't realize the great service they provide in the market....I wouldn't be surprise if they dont ever STOP hearing that phone ring, meanwhile they are trying to run thier business. Anyone who actually is ordering a part from jspec is usually someone who appreciates thier commitment and business, but I guess some people just can't chill for a week that for a part that may have taken months to source.

They should pay someone $10/hr to answer the phone and call customers. And there is no excuse for treating customers poorly, it's pathetic. Apparently, people's desperation is keeping JSpec in business.

They may provide a service, but they are ultimately in it for profit. It is thier responcibility to place the customer on a pedestal and earn the profit just like any other flourishing company. They are competing in a large market, and it would be somewhat stupid to piss off the people that keep them alive. Especially when the customer can give his hard earned money to another business.
