If it includes Premium and Nav its an excellent price and I'd grab it.BTW I purchased mine on 12/31/05 & got a great deal. Christmas eve and New Years eve are in my opinion the two best days of the year to purchase.help me buy a g37 wrote:Hey guys, I am really excited to be in the market for a new G37.. 2009. I've been shopping around and the G37 is the car for me.
I have went to my local dealership and after weeks of haggling they got me down to the $29,500+++ price range. It started out at $32,500 and every week they call me dropping the price $500. I do not know if this is a "steal" or just another regular deal on a batch of clearance cars that have been sitting around for months.
Should I buy now, or wait until Dec.31st? I heard that's the best time to buy. Any help would be great.
I want to wait for 2010 but if I can get a great deal now, I would prefer that esp if the 2010 has nothing new.
Also, what color should I get, black, white, dark grey or red. And why. I like them all I can't decide!!

Black is beautiful, but that paint swirls/scratches very easy. If you are anal like myself, you might want to consider a lighter color.
Post pics when you get it.
That is a good deal, and dealers are getting very aggressive with the 09 models now. I just got a g37 w/prem and nav last weekend.SVTCOBRA wrote:based on carsdirect.com:msrp 35565inv 32873target 30173If there are 3500 in dealer incentives, then I would shoot for inv - incentives$29,373+++
So, you are at $29,500+++.....sounds like it's time to pull the trigger.
I paid too much - Nov 4th, $32,700 for a 2009 G37 Journey with Premium, in pearl white, with 6,500 miles on it. It seemed like a good deal at the time. Heck, I love the car. Had it 6 weeks now.Tim30250 wrote:

Before the 3500 of incentives I came in at invoice-700. Now is definitely the time to pull the trigger. And I am lovin this car so far!
So did you get it??help me buy a g37 wrote:Hey guys, I am really excited to be in the market for a new G37.. 2009. I've been shopping around and the G37 is the car for me.

It may have been a good deal at the time if the dealership didn't feel any pressure to unload inventory. I just got lucky with my timing... 1) it's near the end of the year 2) the 2010 G37's are coming out with a slight redesign and they're eager to move the "old" 09s 3) My car was sitting on their lot since late August and they wanted it outta there.TinsleyC wrote:

At the time I don't think I got ripped too badly... this was the Dallas Sewell dealer, they turn a lot of volume but do deal with a lot of folks who are loaded and may pay sticker price.Tim30250 wrote:

I actually wanted your color, but I ended up with a black one (I know, polar opposite) since they had 5 of them to move. I would have had to pay at least an extra $1200 for any other color since they only had a surplus on the black cars. So I did have to make a concession to save some money. Overall, I'm happy though, the car looks great, it's just gonna be a PITA to keep clean.
I believe all dealers give free loaner cars, at least mine does also. I got a cargo net, but not tint or splash guards. They gave me washes too, but only for 1 yr.TinsleyC wrote:
At least I get free car washes for life, and a free rent car any time it's in for service - or is that standard at all Infiniti dealers?
Did I mention that included tinted windows, color coded splash guards, and the cargo net?
I test-drove a black '08 for a couple of days and really enjoyed it. I was planning to buy an '08 to save the depreciation hit, but when I saw the '09's I couldn't resist moving up a year. If the one theyhad showed me that I bought had been black, I would have bought it. Black and white were my choices, then perhaps grey.
I need to take it in to get the transmission reprogramming done. It does seem to shift (and downshift) a bit erratically and the service bulletin regarding this is supposed to fix that.
I did get the transmission reprogramming done yesterday, picked it up today - MUCH better ride! I swear it gets better mileage now too, but that's only after a day of city driving. I guess all that early downshifting (and consequent engine revving) could affect gas mileage, but who knows.Tim30250 wrote:

As for the depreciation, I opted to buy new since the prices are so good right now. Even if I lost $5000 driving off the lot I still have positive equity since I got ~$7400 off sticker.
As for the car, overall I love it. Very powerful, great handling, excellent braking, and a sporty yet comfortable ride. I do notice some jerky downshifting which I will bring it in for soon. Also, I seem to get a lot of noise from the front wheels. Not sure if there is a bearing issue or if it's just the crappy Goodyear tires (probably the tires.) But it's hard to say for sure since the car only has 300 miles, I'll figure it out as I drive more. Outside of that, I'm very happy with my purchase!
I couldn't do it... filled up with 93!G_whizz wrote:You bought such a beautiful car!!
Shame on you for wanting to run 89 in her..
Black is the best color when it's clean which will be about 10% of the time. 3 black cars and never again. It's just way to much work.help me buy a g37 wrote:I didn't buy anything yet.
I'm either waiting to go on the 24th or on the 31st to optimize my deal
If I could get -700 off invoice - 3500 incentive, that would put me at around $28,500.. not the $29,500 lke I'm being quoted online. If I gave them $29+++ and told them staight up this is how it's gonna be, they'll probably fold.
My dealer has black mostly and a few grey or a white with 600 miles (demo or something)
Personally I still think Blk is the best color... the most luxurious color that matches the personality of the G37 (other than Red) that's not overly seen like white, or shades of grey on all other cars.
I definitely need to have that done too. The jerky downshifting and lazy upshifting is getting rather bothersome. I imagine the dealer will be calling me to pick up my license plates any day, and when they do I'll try to make an appointment to have the reprogram done then too.TinsleyC wrote:

So how was it passing 1,000 miles?Tim30250 wrote:Other than that, it's been two weeks, the car now has 740 miles and I am really happy with my purchase. I haven't pushed it yet (I always wait until 1000 miles before testing any new car) but even when I'm not being demanding this car still seems to want to show me what it can do. I should be able to really test it out early next year... can't wait.
So how are you enjoying it now?Tim30250 wrote:Wouldya believe I'm still not there yet. I took some vacation days around the holidays and just chilled at home. I'm at 900 miles today. I made an appointment to get the new transmission software on Thursday, so I should have just about 1,000 miles by then. It'll be go time next weekend! [img]
Yes, before the transmission reprogramming it felt as if it was driving in DS mode when at slow speed. I'm glad it fixed your issues! Frankly I'm surprised that a G37 manufactured as new as yours was had the issue. I figured all cars made a week or two after the Tech Bulletin came out would get the change.Tim30250 wrote:Just passed 1,000 miles yesterday on the way home from work. So today is the day to see what the G can do. Light traffic and sunny weather with cold dense air, a recipe for fun. Details to follow on my experience.
As for the repairs, I got the new transmission software and it completely solved the rough downshifting. I think the problem was that it was downshifting prematurely when the rpms were too high for the lower gear causing the car's occupants to jerk forward. I also had some noise coming from the front wheels that turned out to be bad rotors. Those were replaced, the noise is gone, and the braking is smoother and quieter.
So now with the car at 100% and beyond my self-imposed 1,000 mile full-throttle restriction, it's time to have some fun!
