I got mine 12-31-09. Sport with Nav, Premium and Tech package. It is a Sport but also has the 7 speed and paddle shifters. Off the lot for $35.5 K. Color is Liquid Platinum. I was going to get a Genesis Coupe with the track package and Nav. They wanted $32K and did not want take a whole lot off. They kept bringing up the G37Coupe as comparison. Thought the G37S looks nicer and went that way. Very happy so far.

Yes, before the transmission reprogramming it felt as if it was driving in DS mode when at slow speed. I'm glad it fixed your issues! Frankly I'm surprised that a G37 manufactured as new as yours was had the issue. I figured all cars made a week or two after the Tech Bulletin came out would get the change.
Not sure when the bulletin came out, but my car was actually manufactured in 09/09. It was sitting on the lot for a while which is why I got such a good deal on it.

That's exactly when I use the DS. I've been using it for about a week now. It's nice because it keeps in the right gear for a little extra power so you don't have to stomp the go pedal for a quick lane change.

Still not used to the manual upshift and downshift thing. What's strange is the momentary delay you get after clicking to the next gear. That manual mode just kinda makes me wish I bought this car with an actual standard trans, so I try to avoid it.
TinsleyC wrote:I'm still having an odd, slight sensation with my brakes. When braking, it feels as if there's a high frequency vibration coming from the brake pedal. Almost like it's the anti-lock brakes kicking in, but at 10x the pulse frequency. It's literally as if someone wsa pressing a vibration creator against the pedal as I brake. The dealer found nothing, and I did notice that the G37 rental the provided me felt the same way.
I still notice this a bit with my car even after they "fixed" it with new rotors. My loaner also did that, so it seems like it's just an undesirable inherent characteristic of these cars. It's a shame because the car stops beautifully yet the pedal feel is terrible.

I finally got that light to blink last weekend, it's almost like it was saying "now we're having fun." This is the most bad-a$$ sedan I've ever driven. I did get to open it up on the highway and spend about a half hour carving some backroads. The acceleration and braking is exciting (even though the trans shifts kinda funny and the brake pedal feels like $hit, lol.) The handling is more than I could have expected for a lux/sport sedan. It's more fun than a daily driver needs to be, although the G isn't quite as confidence-inspiring as my BMW in the turns. It handles well, but doesn't seem to like being tossed into a quick maneuver. That's fine though, as my daily driver I'm not going to encounter a lot of twisty roads. Overall, this car exceeds my expectations in every regard. I'm very happy with my purchase, and I'm going to have lots of fun in my G for many years to come!

You definitely made the right decision... and the best part is that you won't have to tell anyone that you paid thirty-something thousand dollars for a freggin hyundai.
