looks great! of course, we all want one.......

what i find interesting here is: 1) this one is 'made' for the 94-96, with no horn buttons on the sides like i've previously seen on the president wheels.2), your airbag had the infinti logo and not the president marque. did you swap over your orignial airbag to the new wheel?3) i'm guessing wheel is black, not the brown like your dash?

They are from Japanese Yahoo Auction through "Rinkya" ( http://www.rinkya.com ).I received the wheel without the airbag, so I swapped over my original airbag. I've been looking at a lot of these steering wheels but they were mostly gray colors. This is tan leather version, lights and shades make it look darker in the photo I guess. There are 90-93 wheels also, mostly gray color wheels. Here's the link to original webpage.

http://page.auctions.yahoo.co....12203

All of these steering wheel deals are exchange offers. They send you wheel with brand new wood and leather, you give them your original wheel in return. I couldn' t do that with "Rinkya" service, so the seller offered me to pay up 20,000 JPY to buy off the wheel. Total cost of the wheel + service charge + shipping came out close to $700 ~ $750.

The curtains, headlamps, etc are all from Japanese Yahoo Auction ( http://auctions.yahoo.co.jp ). These customized headlamps retail from around $480 ~ up, and the curtains are around $120 ~ up, depends on the makers.

Not gonna lie thats pretty rich for a steering wheel, but whatever makes your wheels spin... Looks nice, very clean and OEM!

You have to wonder if the same thing could have been done locally by a custom shop?

American Stitches can do this for about $500. Either way it is not cheap. But the look is awesome. Props to kimrober for one of the best looking G50s on this forum.

Looks stock.

I find the wood and leather com ination to be an affectation. Either it should be leather so the driver can use his bare hands, or leather so one can use proper dirving gloves.

Not all Lexus "design" trends are worth aping.

I think the air bag is the remaining issue with the QX4 swap.

And yes, it does look very nice .

Right, only if we could find out if the airbag connectors are the same, then we can just hook up the airbags from QX4

Affectation n. A show, pretense, or display. Behavior that is assumed rather than natural; artificiality.

You can't be serious? A wood/leather steering wheel is an "affectation," but leather driving gloves or using the word "affectation" is not?!?

I think that wheel looks great, I tried to recreate that look with a two-toned tan/brown "wheelskins" steering wheel cover but the stock colors that they offer weren't a close enough match to my stock interior. They offer a service where you can send in a piece of your own leather which they sew. I may try that soon.

Someone who has a good custom shop has to check this out. Perhaps we can all pitch in a little on the job if we need custom connectors or a little rig up to do the retro fit.

Its funny, the steering wheel is right there and easy to get to but that air bag and disconecting it/working on it scare me. I need the steering wheel/air bag removal book for dummies. How about a write up on this?

Thanks guys for all the compliments I just love this car so much and I'm trying to do what I can to make it look best, and hopefully inspire some to keep their G50 Q45s in even greater condition than mine I really wish that lot of us can keep this line of rather rare cars in U.S. (because they are not going to last due to the age and abuse...) alive for long as possible. Thanks!

For Chris: I don't have the parts number for the bumper markers however I'll post up if I see one in the auction anytime.

I really dislike the feel of wood on a steering wheel, but it does look very nice. The car is freaking gorgeous.

I have to admit, wood and leather wheels can look really good.

I lusted after a wood and leather wheel for my second Q45a. The cost in the late 90's was close to 1k.

A few years later I had a 95 XJ12 with the wood and leather. It was beautiful, but.... as Jesda said, leather feels better to the touch when driving.

And..... at least half the year in So. Cal. that wheel gets damn hot by lunch time.
