As long as the parts are functional and don't suck balls, I'm perfectly fine with component sharing. It's part of what makes the Vette the best bang for the buck out there. Otherwise it would just be another Ferarri or Lambo.
yup. There were a lot of Volvo pieces in the Aston Martins. Probably still are.

Sorry, but I have absolutely no love for the Corvette, yeah it has a legacy, yeah it has a V8, but it's still a plastic car driven primarily by d-bag kids who can't afford a Ferrarri or Lambo and guys in Mid-Life crisis. The only other car that has a higher percentage of d-bags driving it are M3's.

I'm pretty sure there are more D-bags driving s chassis cars than Corvettes or M3s.

The fact that you have "no love" for a great vehicle because of the type of person that owns and drives them makes you equally as douchey.

Warlord, as a fellow enthusiast, I'm surprised you have no love for a relatively affordable sports car that performs/handles as well as exotics costing several times more. Have you ever driven one? If I didn't have already have a 350Z, I'd probably have a C5 Z06 in my garage.

...and aside from a few easily-addressed glitches, it's remarkably well-built for the price.

Many times, while working on mine, I'd marvel at the monocoque construction or the forged aluminum suspension components and think, "How did I, a common schlep, ever wind up with such a world-class car?"

It's a supercar for guys with $20K to spend. Or, you could buy a new Corolla. :rotfl

My problem with the C5 is the expanse of flat, barren wasteland behind the rear glass. It's bad on the fastback but terrible on the coupe (which is, of course, the only bodystyle the Z06 came in). Long cars look good, but you need to DO something with the length. The C6's design tightened up the behind a little bit but there's still a bit too much space. Also, like Jeremy Clarkson (It's not often I agree with that dude) I dislike the Slab-O-ABS single-piece rear bumper on the C5. Again, the C6 improved a little with some non-body-color plastic, but it is (again) still not perfect.

I'd still love to own a C5, but I would NOT be buying it for its looks.
