Dude, it's still BS. Stock SRTs are putting down to the wheels almost 100 horsepower more than you are with a 5 speed in a car that weighs much less. That's a lot more than 1 car's length.Rapman2005 wrote:yodawill2000
I know some ppl that can get me the inspection sticker...and its legal

yea but its a car tat does tat from a dig and from a dig ur gonna lose to a stick...unless its a honda..lol...anyway wen u race a srt-4 from a 20 roll you have a greater chance of beatin it same thing with mustangs gts from 95-2000...or any v8 truck expt the lightning
& when that's over, then you can come to Alabama & race me.kbflip02 wrote:first off Z headers WILL NOT fit b/c the sterinc column is in the way...secondly if your having those kindve results with just the few mods you have done i wonder what my J would do...on a serious note if your looking for parts for the motor(specifically aftermarket performance)theres a guy name kyle who has a shop north of houston who speciallizes in selling parts for Z32s...google import parts pro...that should save you in shipping...oh and next time you find your way down towards houston give me a shout...id be more than honored to run you @ the track
I agree. Stock J's only come w/around 210 HP, plus they weigh 3,500+ lbs. Post some videos of you racing, then we'll see where you stand.gr8scott72 wrote:

210 hp on the J relates to about 160 - 170ish at the wheels. MANY people have dyno tested STOCK SRTs and shown them to have around 240 - 250 hp TO THE WHEELS even tho manufacture's specs show only 230 hp at the engine. They were WAY underrated.#1 Sailor Scout wrote:

So if you can lose to a SRT-4 by only a car & a half, that means that I shouldn't have beaten a J30 by 3 lengths on a track w/my stock Honda Civic LX, huh?
BTW, I have a 5-speed auto transmission
Go to my CarDomain page to see the videos & do a search on YouTube to find the MotorWeek specs on the J30.
I think Dodge underrated the SRT-4s for insurance purposes.gr8scott72 wrote:

3 full seconds faster down the 1/4 mile is an eternity. MUCH, MUCH more than 1 car lenth.
(Plus, you can EASILY get a SRT over the 300hp mark with a little money.)
Do you mean a STI? A Subaru Impreza WRX STI????Rapman2005 wrote:ALRIGHT I GOT A BLACK J30 WITH A R1 RACING FILTER AND 2.5 CUSTOM EXHAUST PIP ITS A Y PIPE NOT AN X SOUNDS DEEP AND LOUD *** HELL I REMOVED THE CATS SO ITS JUST STRAIGHT PIPE TO THE HEADERS..I DNT KNOW WHAT MY POWER IS BUT I KNOW WEN I RACE SRT-4 OR TSI...ETC I LOSE BY A CAR OR HALF A CAR BUT ON A ROLL RACE ON A LAUNCH I LOSE BY 1 1/2 TOP SPEED 130 THEN GOV KICKS IN. Honda's rating are at the crank not at the wheel.#1 Sailor Scout wrote:

Seriously, different manufacturers give different HP numbers from different locations. I've done some thorough research, & I found that Honda gives their numbers for horsepower to the wheels. I thought Infiniti did the same but I guess I was wrong.
Also, it depends on the mileage & condition of the car as to how accurate your HP readings are. & torque plays a huge part in this as well. J30s come with 192 lb-ft of torque from the crank, right?
Ok, I did some research on that this weekend while at my aunt's. Unfortunately (for me), you are right. So that means I'm kicking out around 110-120 to my front wheels.gr8scott72 wrote:

If he's keeping up with an Eagle Talon TSi, then they don't know how to drive the TSi. Those things can fly.Jakw wrote:I'm guessing by TSi, he meant TSi. As in, and Eagle Talon TSi.If he meant STi, then someone snuck a TT engine in his car without him knowing it.
where the hell was i when this happened...you wouldntve had to sneak one into mine....im assuming his J probably has a 5 speed then too right....LOLJakw wrote: then someone snuck a TT engine in his car without him knowing it.
He hasn't posted back in a while. I think we ran him off.kbflip02 wrote:

Sorry but a 10.26 is about a 16 second 1/4 mile. That had to be the WORST driver (SRT) that I've ever seen. He spun off the line (with terrible reaction time too) then bogged into second then shifted WAY before redline into third. Was that even a SRT or just a N/A Neon with no muffler?ppastos wrote:SRT-4 is in the Doge Neon Right?
If so: http://q45.org/josh-vs-bumblebee.wmv
I know that the J30 has no VH but you can put one in a show them what a J45 ca really do. Plus your cars are lighter too.
maybe not a stock VH...ive been in touch with thomas knight...he designed a supercharger for early 90s Q45s...when i do the swap i plan on boosting it for sure...from his specs its an additional 110 whp however itll cost roughly $6K for the entire kit...gr8scott72 wrote:A 3,500 lbs car is going to have to have OVER 300 hp (crank) to break into the 13s (13.99) in the quarter and I don't think a VH powered J45 will have that much?
google Thomas Knight Supercharger and youll find his website...then if youre interested email him from there...he should get back to you within a few daysppastos wrote:Do you have any more info on that super charger because from what I hear, Since Wes or someone else blew his/Their motor up the project has ceased.
The Neon/SRT-4 had a 0.19 reaction time to the Q45's 0.6 something. That was just sheer power on the Q45 & bad driving on the Neon's part. Unless I missed a detail...gr8scott72 wrote:

I've seen lightly modded SRTs run 13.0 second quarters in person (about 8.3 in the eighth) and the car magazines (Automobile, Car & Driver, etc) got high 13s (13.9) out of them completely stock AND in full street trim. (No weight reduction, tires at full PSI)

10.2 (16.0 quarter mile) doesn't qualify as sheer power in my book and the fact that I think we are missing is I don't think that's a SRT. Even with a CRAPPY driver, an SRT would have pulled pretty good on the Q.#1 Sailor Scout wrote:

I would be leary of any shop that has anything to do with electric superchargers.kbflip02 wrote:google Thomas Knight Supercharger and youll find his website...then if youre interested email him from there...he should get back to you within a few days
i agree however thomas knight was the original designer of a belt driven sc not an electric...gr8scott72 wrote:
