Hahahaha, yeah, just as long as there aren't any corners after those 17 seconds, you're good to go.

I will admit, the body roll isn't as bad as my old Volvo 850, with over 200,000 very abusive miles on it. It's still such a tank, though...sketchy around fast corners.

OK...I dont Think A J30 Run's A 17 In a 1/4?

Mine Run's A 15.50 with the two mods if done full exhaust and intake. How is runing faster then 17s? And Weight Its 3206 with out driver?why does it say 4400 on the door of the car?

You've run a 15.5? Proof? It would take at least 30 - 40 extra horsepower to get that sled to go 15.5 and intake and exhaust will NOT add that.

Js weigh closer to 3,500 lbs and the 4,400 lbs number on the door is GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) which is the total amount that the car is rated to carry INCLUDING the weight of the car itself which means that you can add about 1,100 lbs of passengers, fuel, luggage, etc without being over the weight rating.

Impressive reaction time. A 0.391. Nice. 10.3 for the 1/8 mile...now that's more like a J. The one I raced ran a 10.7ish. I'll post the slips when I find them.

So weight reduction (back seat/front passenger seat removal) in the J makes that much of a difference???

While everyone's posting their track times, I guess I'll post mine when I raced the (riced) J30. Lane positions are marked & these were on a 1/8 mile track. (Mobile Dragway in Irvington, AL...20 mins away from my house!!!!!)

Keep in mind that this J30 was the one I posted a pic of in some other threads. Big wing, fart can, no-name air filter, & a Ron Paul for President sticker.

2.6 sixties? Yikes! You need to get those down to around 2.2.

I believe it's something like for every tenth you shave off your 60 foot time, you will shave 2 tenths off the quarter mile time.

How are you launching? Reving and then just dumping the clutch? Try a few different ways and a few different rev points to see which works better for you.

In my GTI and golf (both fwd) it worked best to rev to about 4k rpms and then quickly but smoothly let out the clutch. (not just dumping it.)

Btw, in my 2000 Golf 1.8 turbo, I ran a 13.9 quarter with just a chip and a downpipe and slightly wider tires than stock. (that's about a 8.9 1/8th)

True, my car is a 5-speed, but it's an *gasp* automatic.

I usually preload to 2.5K RPMs. Can't get the car to go any further. I just usually hold on the brake, then put in about 75% on the gas. When I see the 3rd yellow, I get off the gas & drop the hammer!!

You think I can get up to 2.2 in 60 ft with a stock Civic w/a 5-speed auto?

BTW, those were by no means my best runs since I've had the Civic. I once had a 10.42. How I got that is still beyond me.

I've not been to the strip in 6 months. I think I need to go back to improve on my launching & my RT's.

I thought it was called "pre-loading" the torque converter...
