How can you blame Nissan for this? Do you have any clue what kind of strain is placed on a drivetrain when you drag launch with 400 AWHP? Stuff breaks, you cant help that, would you rather Nissan had just left out the launch control option?

I dislike the new GTR as much as the next guy, but some of you guys are starting to sound like iron heads. If you hate Nissan so much, go buy a Camaro.
i can't say i hate nissan, otherwise i don't think i would own a 240, or be looking at an s30. and nope, i have i no idea what strain any type of launch puts on the drivetrain. i've been working on a 69 camaro this entire summer too, runs tens all day long, street legal and very reliable horsepower. don't really have to worry about anything breaking. and i bet it would sell for under 90k. honestly yeah, they should have left out launch control. imho i should be able to pick what rpm i want to launch at, no?

and i think i was saying i disliked the gtr, i have nothing against nissan, i just think they could have come up with a better sports car for 90k.

Why is the Camaro an alternative? How about something pure and light like an S2000 or Miata?

For some reason that pic reminded me of the F&F garage scene where Ted had "40 weight" poured down his throat..

get a real camera? Cheap point and shoots are under $100 and will take pictures infinitely better than your phone.

Yeah Jesda cause when I think of an alternative to a gtr the first thing that comes to mind is a miata.

i really don't know. that's as bad as suggesting a 300zx, or fox body mustang.

umm... it wasn't intentional..

The car is built to handle 15 launches before needing repairs.. you should research the car first...

Exactly, I couldnt bring myself to drop $10,000 without doing some serious research, much less $90,000.

just another reason to not buy the first year new production cars. they gotta work out the kinks first. maybe if they make it for a few more years itl be less apt to have problems like this. i hope they work them out soon

Makes alot of noise, when in manual mode it stalls while shifting into first from higher gears, evap leak, check engine light is on.

well that is the problem that we are talking about. This car IS meant to get beat on. It was designed with the track in mind.

Did you think the GTR was supposed to be a damn grocery getter?

i understand what you're saying, but it's like. "look we built it for the track, just don't use any of the features on your own time, cause stuff breaks."

and no, i think the gtr is a mid-life crisis mobile. a shatty one at that.

yes, but most cars are mass produced, and come flying off the assembly line too fast to catch everything....

And they generally still don't have to go in for repairs in about a month.

The intention and the actuality are turning out to be quite different for this car.

I wonder if these things are supposed to have a break-in schedule. You KNOW everyone just gets in and floors it with 0 miles haha.
