1. You won't make 200whp on stock compression 2. You won't make 200whp on stock camshafts

If you are having any second guesses at building a N/a KA then I don't think you are going to be satisfied in the long run. It's one of those things you just build for the sake of building it.
I disagree. I think it's completely possible, especially with a fully tunable ECU. People have made 180whp@5700 with the stock intake manifold. You have to understand that while the engine is "only" 2.4L, you're going to be able to make more power than usual at a given RPM level due to the rather long stroke.

If it's a low port then it's a moot point as I was talking about the high-port manifold since it most resembles the KA's.

Plus cams, like I said, are more of the restriction than the intake manifold.

There really is little gain to be had by replacing the stock SR manifold with sub 300whp power.
How so? The engine had sub 300whp and still made massive gains, regardless of wether or not it used the same turbo.

we need pics now, and i agree, if you go to pdm-racing.com they tuned a ka to 177whp and 182 ft/ with tuned ecu, cold air intake, header and 3" exhaust with stock internals, thats lil better than an SR swap, i believe more then 200whp is their next goal so think about fuel upgrades doing the itbs which i am going to do too! so please some pics. j-z

Well I am doing and itb setup very similar to j-z. I would like to know how you managed the tps. The ka tps wont easily bolt on to the end of the gsxr butterfly rod end( too small). The gsxr tps gives a very different reading, i think. How did u get it to work. I have the gsxr itbs attached to a plenum to which i am attaching the stock maf. Hence i am trying to get by with a safc for now. i am close to abandoning the project and going stock. Would be greatly appreciated if anyone could shed some light on this. I have read various itb projects, but they are mostly using ms. b4 anyone blasts me for bringin up such an old thread, i searched and thought i'd revive this thread instead of starting a new one.

^im thinking of doing this setup too, i emailed j-z a couple of questions and he got back to me, he seems like a cool guy, so if you dont get your answer here, i would email him or someone who has run this setup before.good luck!
