well im finally gona do it, im starting my ka-t build after a yr of wating paciently and sourcing parts ill start pulling off the old exhasut mainfold tomorrow.

any tips or advice are appricated.

my plan of attack:remove stock header/downpipeinstall revhard + turbo+downpipe.tap into oil pan for returntap into pressure sending unit for feedremove bumpermount fmicmock up pipesweld up piping and re-route vacume hoses.remove stock injectors/railinstall top feed injectors + railinstall aeromotive fpr+ linesinstall fuel pump

i think i have it down more or less..

my only issues are what to do with the egr? block it off, or remove it? if i remove it do i have to pull the intake manifold off?

also i have msd 52lb injectors. what kind of o-rings do i need? can i use the ones that are on the injectors? and as for the install on the fuel rail do i just "snap them" into the fuel rail. they still fell a little loose. any tips?

also how can i test them to see if they are hi/lo impedence.

all and any tips and advice will help.

This will be a long ongoing thread with pics. soon as i start. im sure ill run into alot of problems but hopefully ill make it.

thanks in advance

for now just the safc.. im looking into haltec or a tuned ecu. i want to get a tuned ecu, but right now the car is still an auto i dont have all the parts to conver to 5sp yet. so i was going to wait and get a tuned 5sp ecu obd1 with a step down harness.

but if all goes well and i get enough support i might mess with the haltec instead.

for now im just gona tune with the safc+wideband for 8psi ( thats the spring i have in my wastegate) and pull timing back about 2-3 degrees.

Pull back about 4* for that boost pressure on the T04b.

Should work out just fine for ya!

Auto ecu's work on manuals.. Don't think there has ever been a tuning issue to my knowledge...Spray all your exhaust bolts with PB blaster like crazy

Take the pan off to tap the oil return-you do not want any metal to get into the motor.

thanks for the support guys, i cant wait to go home and start.

i got a crappy FMIC 26x6x3 square end tanks.

i was think about a e-gay intercooler. 28x9x3? to big?

i plan to work in stages, i think that is the best way, i got untill summer to finish so im in no rush. im going to take my time and do everything right and neatly.

should have some first pic up by tomorrow, possibly tonight if im not to tired..

Either size intercooler will work. The Ebay intercoolers seem to have better flow transition on the end tanks. You might want to take a hard look at them.

Yo i didn't know you were starting starting. thought you just wanted to mock up the pipes and put the car back together. didn't know you had til summer. didn't ask him yet but I'm pretty sure Joe can weld the pipes in a 2-3 weeks time.

well holla at me if you need any help later

thanks alot lo ill let you know when im ready to mock up the fmic pipes you can come over and help.

not much progress yet, basically took off the the head shield and 02 sensor. i sprayed all the bolts down with PB blaster.

the header bolts looks to be in very good condition. but the downpipe bolts looks really rusted. they will probably snap.. o well who cares as long as it comes off.

hopefull pic tonight if everything goes smooth..

Ebay intercoolers are where its at man...

Good luck! BTW, you can have the oil pan off, tapped, and back on in like 4 hours without pulling the engine.. I wasted my time on that **** the first time..

I agree, you don't even need it welded if you use bulk head fittings. I want pics posted soon!!!!

Looking good so far man. Make sure you wrap the MBC or it will melt. A crude barrier can be made from sheet metal and some heat wrap. I'd wrap the entire DP while I was at it as well.

looking good man,

for your egr just buy the block off plate on ebay, or weld it shut. takes about 15-20 minutes to install. if you have small hands even faster.

like others have said, design some sort of heat-shield. I used header heat shielding from a Prelude H23 motor. i went to the junkyard and pulled some shielding from a 300zx, will work great and with some minor drilling, it will fit in and look like Oem.

Looks great so far, especially on the oil pan. How is clearance with the ac compressor? And no hard feeling on suspension, eh? I think I may keep the Konis after all, lol.

Anyone who does their own work is not a ricer in my book. Now if you put some faggoty *** wing on the back and decals everywhere, I might retract that statement.

Looks really good so far man. I love the Kouki...
