Have to use a long extention and a universal joint. Mine came right off with that combo. Taking it off at the intake mani and plugging the hole there is the best option.

I made one out of the stock heat shield from the KA's exhaust manifold. The stock heat shield is made of 2 layers and I 'think' there is some sort of fiberglass in between them. Hopefully it will work, it's only half way finished. I gotta bash it around a little bit more. But here it is.

Please don't think I'm trying to threadjack. I'll post this on it's own if someone want's it as a sticky. I thought it was a BRILLIANT idea! LoL

DON'T LAUGH!!

Ya I got one of those too but i didn't make it..

I actually bought the one off ebay and surprisingly it fit with no problems.

I figure i would try to contribute to the DIY'ers who are trying to save a buck here and there.

ehh I don't know...I wouldn't really put my trust into something I can't put my hand on. With the turbo blanket, I can put my hand on it. Sure it's hot and I can't leave it on forever, but I can nonetheless. I remember that exhaust manifold heat sheild had a "no touching w/ hand" symbol on it so I don't know how well it will protect the brake master cylinder when it's very close. Great Idea though....I can't believe I didn't think of it at first....

Well, it was designed to be connected TO something that was 800+ degrees or however hot it is. It is no longer connected or attached to anything that hot. Hopefully, it will be sufficient at blocking radiant heat. I hope I said that right..? LoL
