I have an ISIS fpr fuel rail adapter thing and it works wonderfully. Granted it's not an exhaust, but it works well and I wouldn't mind trying other ISIS products.

As for exhaust, I have an HKS Hi-Power. the lowest part of my car my ebay downpipe, and even that is barely 1/4" below my frame rails. The rest of the exhaust is way above my frame rails. I paid around 400 for it but it fits well and sounds great.

I have ISIS rucas and the aluminum radiator. I thought that both looked to be of good quality. Fitment for the radiator was tight, but I'm still using the stock fan, so it's going to be tight. Other than that, it fit right into place and the hoses all lined up great. Rucas were the same, no problems whatsoever out of them. Speaking of newer, cheaper companies, I have Megan streets coils. Fitment was great, and no problems to speak of whatsoever. I get tons of compliments on how they ride. I just don't see a point in buying a name, as long as the other is of good quality. Why pay $400 dollars for piping and a muffler? I have an eBay catback on my car and also get tons of compliments on how it looks and sounds.

If my perspective helps, I had a custom-made mandrel bent catback for my S13.

It was made with Magnaflow components (resonator, muffler) for about $350.. this was 5 yrs ago. It was too loud for me after a while. I ended up forking the cash out for a HKS Hi-Power n/a catback ($450ish at the time from FRSport.com) and I LOVE IT. It's much quieter, isn't raspy at high rpm, and I actually got some torque back (butt dyno ) from it. It's very well made, the welds are nice, and it's nice to have an exhaust that really fits the car.

R&D and quality does matter; you just don't realize it when you're going from the piece of junk OEM rusted exhaust to a Ebay/ El cheapo unit. When you finally go to a quality, brand-name unit .. then you notice what you've been missing.

Update: ive had this exhaust on my car for a month now and im liking it more and more everyday. I get alot of compliments on how nice it sounds and i have no rattles at all so the clearance is good. its holding up pretty well so far, i think i'll update every month just so everyone can see how its holding up.

ive thought about removing the tow hook but i decided not to because its not in the way and if the exhaust was higher it would keep it from touching the bumper.
