If you dont think I can get to my car in under about 10 seconds at any given time, you are mistaken. The times I cant get to my car, I feel pretty safe about it, I dont leave it parked in some ****ty neighborhood or outside some trashy dive bar. So go ahead, try to steal my car, see what happens ;) Its kill switched too, and not just the fuel pump. Also, even if you DO only get there as your car is getting pulled away, better to get some plates or be able to report the theft IMMEDIATELY than whenever you normally would have gone to use your vehicle. The sooner you report the theft the better the chance of recovery.

doesnt matter where you park your car. i've seen it happen to friends of mine.

and u make it sound like you stay really close to your car all the time. wich just isnt practical.

some alarms are good at getting attention. the ones that work the best in that manner are the ones that honk the horn in a way that sounds like its a person honking it (thats what mine does, everyone looks).

Kill switches are your best bet next to installing low jack. don't put the switch under your seat... its obvious.

yup a kill switch is best... i disconnected the horn on my car alarm since it sucks, but left the rest of it active, so it would provide some deterrent.

i also have the steering wheel club w/ the shield... and the autolock attached to the clutch pedal... it won't fit on the brake pedal though, so automatics are outta luck.

Where do you think the best spot for a kill switch would be?

i have a few tricks i perform when i am parking my car in a "dangerous" area... first i have a sort of a switch that i rigged up when i did my auto to manual swap, its connected to the clutch saftey interlock, so it won't even try to start when that switch is off. also, my POS pilot short shifter doubles as a anti-theft device, the entire top of the shifter slides off of the mounting pole, making it impossible to shift. put the sucker in 5th, parking brake on, undo the clutch interlock switch, that ***** aint goin nowhere.

No matter what you do, it can still always be towed : \ I am hoping my dad will let me use the garage when I get a 240 ;)

trunk for kill switch... kinda out of the way, but just pretend youre getting getting/putting something away everytime, thats where im gonna put my kill switch next... i think

and on another note, for the past few weeks ive been looking for another 240, and for those that have caught my eyes, the SE stick either coupe or hatch... most of the sellers have said, "what are you gonna do with the car? daily driver or SR swap ?" i dont know about you... but i was about to kick their asses when they said that. i just wanted a 240 man :(. damn 240 got all trendy :(

and since my car was stolen, im gonna be parking in the garage as well. but then again theres another 240 that was recently bought on my street.... it now has an exhuast with some rims... hope his car gets stolen. i know im mean, but it happened to me.

Another nice trick is to take the spark plug wires off or the distributor if you have one. Also, taking the radiator cap would keep it from going to far but don't forget to put it back on.

Concerning towing, how effective are the factory steering locks? With the wheels turned sideways and the car parked so the front end is behind another car or in front of a wall it would seem to be fairly difficult to tow with out a proffesional setup.

taking the radiator cap off... thats smart especially if you take it off right after youve been driving right? park the car, pop the hood, take off the cap??? uhhh... no... unless you want to like park the car, and come back out like in an hour...

YES the 240SX is easy to steal for 2 simple reasons... 1.) The frameless window is so easy to get into... 2.) 240 keys (S13, at least) are very alike... 3 of my friends have S13s in addition to my coupe, and I can unlock two of my friend's doors and start their cars!
