Hey gani, where in ATL are you? Im in the kennesaw area just north of there and im getting my ca on ebay right now. Im gonna do the swap after many many mods to the motor then have it all up and going in about 3-4 months. Just wondering if you know of any places around here to get cams, cam gears, or just general motor parts.

gani-do you have the ca16 cams on your car? If so, did you notice a difference?

Quote »the people with the really fast modded cars usually dont spend their time posting on car forums.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I resent that comment. My girlfriend has a very fast sentra with CA18DET in it that is heavily modded and I do mean heavily. And the beauty of it, I am damn near in a class by myself because not too many people in this country or world period care to even take the B12 sentra to the levels I've taken mine with the CA18DET. Also have one with an extremely built engine and a sweetly built gearbox. And though I do drive a fast car with a CA18DET, I'm not too good whereas I can't share my good fortune and knowledge with other CA18 owners or people in general.
You don't need to unless you go for a very highlift camshaft.Quote »do i need the shims to conver to solid lifters..
If you're going to use solid lifters you will need shims. And if you're going to use radical cams, your head will have to be modified.
