Michael's "movies" are biased, presenting only his own interpretations of what he thinks are the issues at hand on those topics. He has been known to edit out information that don't fit his pre-determined world-view. The limited accuracy makes his work unwatchable as far as I am concerned.telcoman wrote:to the movies?

Twenty years ago Michael made a movie on what was wrong at General Motors.
A few years ago Sicko came out pointing out problems with the healthcare system.
I can hardly wait to see this one.
A great interview with him today on the Howard Stern Show

regardless of what people think, MM movies are entertaining and amusing.
And one that properly presents both sides of any issue, if it is purports to be a documentary. It is very well-known that MM deliberately ignores fact that are contrary to his view of how things are or should be.audtatious wrote:I don't mind an opposing viewpoint that is rooted in fact.
Exactly right.audtatious wrote:MM stretches the truth to the extreme and also makes it up as he goes. To me, it's a waste of time.
I enjoyed MM's interview on Stern too. What I found interesting is that Moore had made a $10,000 challenge to anyone that could find any factual errors in Farenheit 9/11 when it came out. He just extended the challenge to this movie. He said the facts have yet to be challenged. Of course he also shared the studio and insurers invested a lot of time in fact checking and would not have released the movie if they felt the content would be vulnerable to lawsuits.telcoman wrote:
Isn't it amazing how some are so biased in their thinking that they refuse to see an opposing viewpoint on an important issue.
Our elected representitives have many heathcare choices yet there is much opposition to every American having the same choices.
Millions have gotten screwed with the corporate changeover from defined benefit retirement plans to defined contribution plans (401k).
Corporations laying off millions, transferring jobs overseas while top executives receive huge bonuses leaves a shrinking middle class to buy their products. Lack of government regulation by a previous administration allowed the banking and financial system to almost collapse and cause a worldwide depression.
That tells me there is something wrong with our capitalist system and perhaps more government regulation is needed.

You are absolutely correct. MM uses comments/words of others, without supporting context, in order to lead the viewer down his perception of the rabbit hole. That's how it was with F 9/11 at least.Bubba1 wrote:

Funny how MM is making a movie against capitalism while using the same system to make bux. Wonder if his investors expected to NOT make money off the movie or if MM would have still done it if he didn't have a ROI?

"The majority of people losing their homes today is because of job loss and medical bills"
Job loss, yes. Medical bills being a high percentage of why people are losing their homes? Highly doubtful.
Perhaps Fox news has some answers?audtatious wrote:Where's the data? Who did they speak with? What's the demographics? What questions were asked/how were they asked?
DATA FAIL
I've seen the number listed as low as 9% that were "real" medical related but even that one did not answer some of the questions below.
Now, let's take their 49% number. Of that number, how many were in a house they could not afford in the first place and would lose it anyway due to sub-prime loans? Of that number, how many are claiming it's medical due to being treated for depression? Of that number, how many could afford medical insurance and chose not to? Of that number, how many could have been on medicaid and chose not to? How many are illegals?
Nice dodge.telcoman wrote:

I'd say Michael Moore came first with Chris Matthewssrellim234 wrote:Which came first, the chicken or the egg?

Why not listen to others opinions? Afraid they may give you something to ponder?audtatious wrote:
We should make MM films and Al Gore films mandatory for US citizens to watch as a means to make change that matters to some.
