There are plenty of SR20s on the track as well as RB20s, so asking which one handles better in motorsport is like asking which brand of bottle water will make me less thirsty. If the engine overheat, you are going to stop racing, not keep running until you blow it up.

If you do it right, both engines will not overheat anyways. Engine broke down because of fail in the cooling system, fuel system, lubrication system, or driving over reeving the engine.
