Iowa NICO meet.

I am interested in setting up a meet in Iowa. It seems like I have to drive atleat 8 hours to any meet that is set up so I'd like one a little closer to home. I can possibly get a saturday or night 1/4 mile track and then a sunday autocross adventure set up for us. I just want to see how many people would actually come before I looked into anything. Possibly Cedar Rapids.

I would be willing to come out there in the spring. My schedule is pretty full on the weekends until December. And I think it would be a little too cold to be doing anything until the spring like you have suggested. I have never actually been to Iowa except driving through late at night once.

Depending on when it is, I *might* try and go. Its pretty far from here (SOUTH ky), so I dunno if the parental units would be up for me going. But I might could get a couple people to go with me, depending on what would be going on.

^alright. Probably wont be till summer atleast. I was thinking a saturday night 1/4 mile, and a sunday morning/afternoon autocross

Thats how we did it in Indy and it seemed to work alright.

yeah, but gibbo didnt wanna stay for the autocross so i wasnt able to see that. I really wanna see some 240's run. ONly about one or two besides me that are regulars around here.

My car hasnt been what youd call running, until this weekand it needs some tuning, but soon ill be out with my ride. Are you from cedar rapids?

Hey this Dave, with the 96. One of the regulars. I am up for doing a meet. Let me know when and where. I can get ahold of the track and see if we can get a better rate or something as a group. I assume you were thinking of using CFR? I dont like it as much as I like Tri-State, but whoever would give us the best deal would be the way to go.

I really liked the marshalltown course, even thuogh I wasn't able to bring my car. I'd like to have the meet during that event if at all possible, although the track is way out of the way of any major city.

I haven't ever driven on a track, but I think I need to because the iowa law enforcement is getting a little uptight with my street driving.

yes the go kart track would be wonderful to use, but I worry about keeping costs down. cones and an empty lot are alot less expensive I am willing to bet.

also the big problem I for see is insurance, unless you want to piggy back on top of scca some weekend running an event by our selfs could be a problem, the drag stri pwill provide it, but a rented out lot will not. I am sure the iowa region would be more then happy to help us out. We could do it one of the weekends that they hold the autox up at the greyhound park.

Both of my S14's are down for winter man, come March with the new Diff in it will be so fun, probly claim a couple more fenders to you now where.

Dave, I was referring to setting the meet up at the time of the meet at the gokart track. We wouldn't actuially rent it, we would all just enter in that SCCA event. Or the greyhound events would be good for me considering they are local. I guess we will see when the time comes. Also, if you guys go drifting, let me know, I'd liek to come.

i got arrested for driving while suspended, lawyer maed most go away but still had to do my 90 days, I have served quite a few suspension. What I dont get is how I manage to get in that mouch trouble with a 1/3 L ford aspier and a 98' 2.0L non turbo automatic eclipse. I have only put about 100 miles on my240 b/c legal and maintince prolems, but i have had it for close to 5 months.
