I'm in Florida which sucks for insurance And I'm only 22 years old BUT

$1250 per 6 months with two cars...

$500 each for comp and colision on the G35 coupebasic on the other.

I told them I drive the G35 only 3k per year and my other car (which I own outright) 15k per year... (really the other way around opps... I got it mixed up sorry Geico)

My 6 month premium on the G35 is $550 (with comp and colision) The Mercedes is $700 something

I used to pay $1350/6 months with just the G

Multi car discounts are nice + I have good credit.

I pay 740.00 a year cuz we put in under my husbands name as a 'pleasure car'. He's a bit older than me so, it was cheaper! (once you're over 50, rates are lower) hee hee! I had a lot of fun with that one when he told me about the 'old age' thing!

We also have a 2001 Maxima, a 2002 Chevy Tahoe and a Pontiac Grand Am for my 17 year old son on the policy and have our homeowners thru the same company.

I pay $312 every 6 months. State Farm. $250. deductible, and raised the injury payouts to $50k. I am 32 and I have a perfect driving record. Yes, that is collision/comp, uninsured/underinsured/towing/rental car... the whole nine yards.

$312/ 6 months full coverage????..........Come on? Who is your insurance with??

I have full coverage (everything you can think of) $250 deductible comp/ collision. Perfect credit, perfect record, 7 year customer of nationwide and I have my homeowners policy with them on a $460M home and my car insurance is still $112 a month.

If you are paying $52 a month for a G coupe with that much coverage then we all need switch to your insurance company. You probably have a small mom and pop local agent don't you? or a relative?

As stated above, it is State Farm insurance. No relatives. There is a multi car discount and the home is on the policy as well. Both my wife and I have perfect driving records, and great credit. We live in a small city, so I don't get hosed with the rates for the dangers of a big city. I only paid $41 per month for my Maxima, and was paying around $27 for my crappy little Ford Ranger a few years back.

And when I lived in Dallas in my mid 20's, insurance through State Farm for me, in a 1995 Chevy Silverado truck was $175+ per month. The city has a lot to do with it. Especially if you have the problems of the LBJ parking lot, 75, 35E and 30. Crappy accident prone freeways like those help drive up the risk factor on your insurance.

And to hijack this thread a little, is Deep Ellum still the place to party? Bakers ribs and beer from the Copper Tank...

Get one of these. It has helped me keep the perfect record. I don't rely on it, but it gives a good "heads up".

Oops!! It does say State Farm doesn't it. Between two televisions, a phone ringing off the hook and a screaming kid with an ear injection, I missed that statement.

You are very correct that the city has everything to do with it but $52 a month on a coupe is not fathomable to me so you are a very lucky person. I wish mine was that cheap. Also, I am two miles south of the city line so Dallas County, which doesn't help. Two miles north and it is Denton County 2 miles East and its Collin County. Either would reduce my rate about $25 a month.

As for info on Deep Ellum, it is dying a bit lately. Everyone seems to be migrating back over to the edge of the West End since House of Blues opened and with the Victory project in full swing and the W Hotel open with the Ghostbar that area around the American Airlines Center is the new hot spot.

Lower Greenville is dying a bit as well. Lots of shootings, car break in's/ carjacking that sort of thing. (that is why I pack some heat in the car with me around here ). It's a shame though, I had many good times in Deep Ellum and on Greenville in my 20's.

Take it easy Bean!!

Just thought Id add a little extra info about insurance rates. Not only is it based on age, multiple policy, whether youre married or not location of residence and driving record but they also base it on your credit report. The more screwed up or non existent your credit is the higher the insurance rates will be.

I dont understand why your credit report has to do anything with it..i guess they wanna see if you could your payments on time right..but i never recall giving them my social when signing up for insurance..do only a few companies do that?

150 a month with Allstate - good driving record but apparently I had some bad items on my credit report which affected my rate (they told me in the mail).

I pay $737/year through USAA. I'm 23, male, and one point away from perfect driving record. I live in a very low crime area and I have pretty good credit score.

It is completely stupid that insurance companies use your credit report to determine your rate. However, they use it as a way to charge you even more in an industry that is already pretty much a legal form of extortion to begin with.

They figure if you have bad or bumpy credit, it is an indication of how you will pay them and your overall "character" (one of the five C's of credit) in that people who generally don't pay there bills on time usually don't care and that boils over to insurance payments, your mortgage probably, etc.

However, if an insurance company has a customer who is new or even been a customer for years and they have set up an ACH debit for their monthly payment, you would think that paying the bill every month on time would lessen the risk for that company. Not the case.

Insurance companies are always going to look for ways to charge you at least a little more with each renewal. They are trying to get the money to pay for all of the claims from all of the SUV driving soccer mom's who have wrecks while talking on the cell phone. And of course they will do that off the backs of the rest of us who pay on time and never file claims.

You can typically get a better rate as a new customer of another insurance company than you can being a long lasting customer of a particular agent. Now that does not guarantee that the new insurance company won't increase your rate on the next renewal, but my point is their method of determining rates is retarded to begin with.

Just my $0.02

Im a 24 yr old female paying $1,200 a year for 2 vehicles...my QX4 as the primary and the G coupe as the secondary car with Geico. However the issue i have with Geico is they use aftermarket parts. My dad owns a body shop though so i don't have to worry about that part.

Florida is not a good place to have insurance. The idiotic "no-fault" law here inflates the insurance rates.

Currently paying $2300/year (190ish/month), full coverage, just the G. Incredible credit, near perfect record (but rate hasn't changed after infractions, so that doesn't matter). I just need to turn 50, get married, and have like 15 kids....oh, and being a female helps too. Then I'd pay like $1.35/month.

TRICK TO AVOID POINTS ON LICENSE:

If you get a ticket that has points with it, and you're sick of that idiotic driving school, then there's a way to keep the points from affecting insurance. It DOES still affect license though.

When you get a ticket, mail a check in for the amount PLUS a few dollars (most people do $10). They are bound to send you a check back for the extra dollar amount. When you get the check, put it away and never cash it. As long as the check isn't cashed, the information doesn't get sent to the insurance company. I guess because the case/file isn't "closed" or some nonsense. I haven't done it myself, because my lawyer does a good job getting out of the points , but a guy I've done alot of business with has done it many times and said it works flawlessly. He got out of like 3 tickets in the same month that way. His Viper apprarently can't do the speed limit

For a 25 year old I would agree, an 810 credit score is impressive. Especially considering few people have over an 800 score and even fewer in that age range.

As a credit analyst for a bank I deal with credit reports everday and the highest I have ever seen is an 814 (on an 850 scale) and he had a net worth of $6 million with close to $1 million in cash in the bank.

You should feel fortunate to have a credit score that high at your age.

Yea it seems like you'd have to have a lot of expenses/mula to be able to have a score that high..or maybe if you're old with long and perfect credit record.

30yr male, good driving record, good credit, Las Vegas, State Farm $818 every 6 months. I have my homeowners on that as well. Still crazy. I had to bump up some of my coverage because of the lease.
