So tell us about the red Lotus, the White M1 and the 2002 in the background.
Nice stable. By the way, no VH in Y34 or F50 or Y50, only VK.
Had a friend with a 2000 roadster back in the day. so much better than anything short of an Alfa.
Maxnix - Thanks and roger that on the VK - my slip-up.
The Red Lotus was a project that I was going to pursue at one stage but had to pass it along. A very clean car, that had been never driven and the owner was tired of spending good money after bad on it. My plan was to turbocharge it but it had suffered a smallish engine fire and would have required alot of harness and some frame work to make it perfect, which is the level I try to achieve with my projects, too many "slap-em together Joes" around.
The BMW collection belong's to a friend of mine, it is the largest private collection of Bimmers in the U.S. The M1 is seldom driven and is one of the sexiest cars to look at, let alone hear on idle let alone drive, the white 2002 is a Tii model and is perfect and in the picture what you cannot see is a 2002 Turbo and many many other rare Bavarian birds. That picture was part of a photo shoot one evening for a professional photographer's portfolio, and he was playing with lighting, and angles on that one.
Thanks on the comliments on the Roadster, she is a little sweety, all 96hp! I do like the older Alfas too (later models and '80s not so much), having spent many years in Europe I have a deep appreciation for European engineering.

I love the 1967 roadster the best, what a nice car, and with so few origional miles!
Also, I would love to hear the story about the red Lotus in the background too...that is my favorite car (I would love to someday own a yellow '02 - '04 Esprit).
BTW, great looking M!
Looks like you really know your stuff about turbo-charging cars as well.
M45-Zero - Many thanks on the compliments on the Roadster and the M. Here are two extremes in technology and 4 decades separate these two cars - fascinating, yet intriguing! Please see my comments above on the Lotus Esprit. Have you ever driven an Esprit Turbo? Pretty amazing cars. Naturally the later model Twin Turbo V8 32V cars are quite impressive.
peter_rabbit wrote:Welcome to the club, and that's a nice collection of cars. I never seen a Datsun roadster, very nice. Well!!!!!! since you are an engineer and you love to design and fabricate, if you ever want to make some extra money, fabricating and selling a cold air induction for the 03-04 M will definately keep your pockets fat. I would say at least 75% of the members here would buy it, depending on price.
Peter- Thanks! The Datsun roadster is a rare bird, not many survive in the US anymore, only a few thousand came here from about '64\'65 to '70. They were called the Fairlady in Japan and held the land speed record for many years as the fastest street vehicle you could buy off the showroom floor in the '60s. If you Google them, alot of hits will come up (if you are interested). In regards to the cold air intake, I am not in it for the "fat pockets" part. But now that you have planted the bug...I will absolutely look into designing a Cold Air Intake. The key is to keep the Air Filter away from the heat generated by the radiator, while being in a location to receive cold air constantly while the car is moving and not be located too low under the radiator support to ever have the possibility of pulling and absorbing moisture. Let me take a look. Will report back..I have lots of mandrel alumium piping in the garage too..wink! Sometimes on these bolt-on style pieces it is tricky to improve on the high level of Engineering and Design done at the factory, but I will absolutely give it a shot!
My best and many thanks for the reception and warm welcome!
