ok so i dont know wtf is going on with my computer. the computer just turned itself of for windows auto update and after rebooting it went to a black screen and this is what it said..

all BS seems to go hand in hand with the windows auto updates. can i turn the SH** off?

checking files o n system C. the type of file is NTFS
one of your disks needs to be checked of consistency

CHKDSK is verifying files
file verification complete
405 large files processed
0 bad files processed
0 EA
61 reparse records processed

CHKDSK verifying security descriptors

then there was a long list of othere writing on the screen but was really to fast for me to read.

it rebooted to the windows sign in screen . i atempted to sign in but only was able to get to a all black screen  . so i did a hard reboot. pulled the battery . turned back on got the black screen (of death) again. it had all the same info as above but it was checking files on system "f". WTF. it aloud me to by pass by pressing any button and I was able to get it going to type this but im freaking out . please help

thank you

So, right now your computer is working well? What's your OS? How old is the pc?

Your computer is in recovery mode now. You need to break out the system restore disc and do startup repair.

If you have a restore disk, worst case is you format that b****. That just erases your HD and restores everything back to factory specs.

No, no, no, no.

Just wait for it. Mine took 20 minutes once after update. Sitting on a black screen is unsettling, but trust me, it's fine. The Checking disk thing? Just let it run. Monitor it so that you can provide operator input if needed.

Oh, and DON'T HARD BOOT THE SYSTEM AFTER AN UPDATE, EVEN IF IT'S TAKING A LONG TIME TO START. The reason it's running checkdisk is because you stopped it while it was in the middle of indexing files. When the system shuts down, it writes new system files. When it starts back up, it indexes them. The update isn't complete until you start it back up. Hard booting makes that much harder on the system.

uggg ive had so many "black/blue screens" of death in my life. im such i newb  but either case. i let the first original scan go thru without the hard boot . it was after that first scan i freaked(when it happened again) and did the hard reset. cuz i got the same black screen of death (b/bsod) .

i just dont want to f*** up my simple laptop more than it is already. thats why i ask questions.

is my computer doing "normal" operations?

Yes. Like I said, mine has done this on the first reboot after a ton of updates. Just take a step back and let it run 1's and 0's.

Win 7 tells me it's updating and not to restart my pc. I never have any sort of death screen, on any updates.

Yeah, I'm still on XP. I'm in need of an updated OS. XP freaks out after every few updates.

That's why I didn't think of the updates loading at start-up. 7 does a pretty good job of letting you know what's going on. My desktop is still on XP, nothing wrong with XP either. I really like 7 though, haven't had anything I can think of to complain about. Not a fan of 8 though.

That sucks, you should always keep one around. Maybe see if the manufacturer can sell you one? They might even just give you one if you prove ownership...

Some updates require a restart in order to complete the process. It usually asks you if you want to restart the pc. Sometimes there will be a timer. I usually restart the PC after every update, just because.

You can download your full copy of Windows 7 here, http://www.mydigitallife.info/official- ... tal-river/

These are all legit copies directly from Microsoft. To reinstall just use the product key on the sticker on your computer or under your laptop.

You can also use this as a startup repair disk.
