Did you install some free software recently? A lot of those sneak in a home page change and add in some kind of a toolbar you don't want.
Either click on the Firefox orange top-left tab and click options or click Tools -> Options and look on the "General" tab, what does it say for "Home Page"?

Agreed, sounds like you picked up some hate from some sketchy software or websites.. Sometimes this can be from stuff you accessed recently, or months ago..

malwarebytes is good, also spybot S&D is good for removing that stuff.. Sometimes you have to run it a couple times (safe mode) to get everything.

Ranger your dealing with either malware or you accidentally installed something by accident.

I would use a combo of Malwarebytes, Microsoft Security Essentials (if you're using Windows), CCleaner, and being more careful when you download stuff.

lol at the people here. Yes, malwarebytes is nice, but it's not always the end-all solution. You don't always need to download a program or an application to fix another program.

Before you go about installing other stuff, just check the options menu first. Cool?

Don't forget to uninstall Delta Search using add/remove programs or ccleaner as suggested above.

I use Malwarebytes, CCleaner and Spybot S&D just to keep my machine safe. All 3 programs need to be run manually. I'm not a fan of any program that sits in the background eating resources, like AVG and most other antivirus programs.

Yeah, I know. I'm not trying to get into it, I was just gonna do the manual version of the script that everybody loves to install the program for that's using up resources. No one wants to hear that most of the operations that program does can be done manually (and quickly, too), they just want to click something and have it to your work for you I guess...

OK, CCleaner just automates erasing your browser history, basically. You can do it without installing that third-party software in about 1 minute.
Malwarebytes does a little more, but you don't need to install that either to get rid of a silly home page change or a toolbar add-on you didn't want. Again, that stuff takes about a minute to get rid of if you know where to go.

I was just commenting on what software I use.

I use ccleaner for the registry portion, malwarebytes to scan for...wait for it...malware and Spybot for spyware/adware.

There are lots of things you can do manually. But having a program do it for you is often times much easier. Especially if they aren't programs that run on start-up.

Read this. Make sure to look for yontoo with add/rem programs as well. Or click the hotlink in the blog article below and follow the steps.

Click on "Download Latest Version" in the top right corner. Let it update. Then run the scanner. After you scan, run the immunizer.

Run the scan weekly.

Do the same for malwarebytes if you haven't already.

It does do that but I use it 95% to sort out registry issues. Also if you use multiple browsers all of a sudden that feature is really useful; instead of deleting cookies/cache/history on each browser you just run CCleaner and you're good.

I am 99% sure Delta_Search is BS but 1% of me is thinking they actually care and don't want to be annoying. It makes me laugh to think about who ever wrote that's intentions.

Right. Because posting the removal instructions here for everyone to see would be far more difficult than a discrete email exchange...

Malwarebytes just got me out of a sticky situation just the other day, actually. I had to DL a flash decompiler and it had some kind of malware in it. My daily scan caught it before any real damage could happen.
