My climate control system works flawlessly in warm weather. However, under about 40 degrees F is an entirely different story. When I first start the car when it's cold outside, the interior temperature gets uncomfortably hot. If I set the temp to 68, which is about right for me, the interior temp of the car gets well over 80 or 90 unless I fiddle around with the fan speed or reduce the temp to 60. If I were to try to ignore the heat and never touch the the controls, the interior temp will remain extremely hot and slowly decrease to whatever I've set it at. This can take several hours. I find that I have to play with the controls extensively to make it comfortable in the car when it's cold out. Every single one of my passengers complain about it getting too hot after a few minutes of driving.

Anyone else have this problem?

Tony

Although I can't speak for your particular model, I know that my '01 QX4 has adjustments that can be made in a diagnostic mode on the climate control to bring the temperature of the air blowing out closer to the actual temperature. You may also have a defective fan control amplifier which controls the fan blower speed at any particular setting and I believe the temperature of the air coming out. Your car is new enough that it's under warranty so I would have the dealership take a look at it the next time you're there. In my '03 M, the temperature control works great and I almost never have to play with it. Same goes for my QX4.

Mine is the same way '07 M35. In fact, I started a post on here similar to yours. It's received a number of replies from others also experiencing the same problem. It doesn't seem to be a coincidence any more. I'm taking mine back for the Nav recall (firmware update) and will try again to convince the Service Rep that there is an issue with the temperature sensors.

Have you made any progress on yours yet?

Do you have a link to your post? I'd love to read it and I'm too lazy to look for it myself!! LOL

No, no progress. It's on my list of things for the dealer to look at and ultimately not do anything about. Not that I'm cynical or anything!

Dale - let us know if you have any luck with your Service Manager on this. I will bring this up at my next oil change next month and post what my Service Manager says/does.

What was the outcome of your visit to the dealer? I have an 07 M35 and I believe I am having the same problem which is that the temperature is to hot but not only in cold weather but average temperature days. Most recently the temperature outside was 72 degrees and I had the vents on. I would bet even with the temperature set at 60 degrees the air coming out of the vents was 80 degrees.

Tried yesterday, serivice advisor just looked at me like I was from another planet. Aslo mentioned the Nav recall, and they claim there was none...

I'm really losing my faith on the dealer in Brentwood Tn, every time I've been there, they have been arrogant and frankly, quite nasty.
