Lets start a tip/trick thread on keeping your interior looking new.

My tip is for your dashboard. I have found the best way to keep it looking new is baby oil. This is a very simple bi-weekly thing you can do in about 30minutes. Get a clean rag and a bottle of baby oil and pretty much wipe everything vinyl down with it. Pretty simple stuff.

Ive got a 27 year old Datsun 620 truck that this has been done all its life and the dash looks like new.

when i clean my dash, i use armor all cleaning wipes and protectant wipes. After I apply the protectant wipes, I take a paper towel and run back across the dash. It keeps streaking down, and I have never had a dash crack on me.

try the baby oil once, it makes it shine for months and makes the car smell better. Ive had 3 dashes crack, even useing armor all.

I'd be interested to see a picture of this 27 year old dash. Not that I doubt you. Pictures have the power to make jaws drop. That's something words just can't often do.

I use 303 aerospace cleaner to clean the everything from the dash to the leather seats. Then i use the 303 aerospace protectant on everything as well to. The best part is that it doesnt leave any grease like the armor all i use to use.

Because armor-all is BAD FOR YOUR CAR. I think there was a detailing thread on here somewhere that outlined all this stuff.

I use women's professional make up brushes and fine art brushes to clean out the nooks and crannys on my dash. They clean it well. Sometimes using a little bit of forced air from one of those computer cleaning forced air cans helps get stubborn grime out from tight areas.

I haven't tried it on my dash yet, but my father has used vaseline on the dash in his '72 Charger since he got it in the mid '80s and the dash still looks great...shines and there are no cracks.

Put a little vaseline on a cloth and rub it in until it doesn't have that whitish jelly looking appearance.

Not really a cleaning tip, but oh well. Everyone knows that the stocker s13 seats look pretty crappy, but spend 30 bux on some seat covers and they look great(and seem unbelievably more comfortable). I found a great imitation leather pair at auto zone, and once they are tucked in they look like racing seats from outside, i have fooled many people into thinking i had racing seats until they looked very closely.

Armorall tire spray: use it on ur shift boot, will recondition and shine up with some gently rubbing. I have found that normal armor all cleaner will lead to cracking. Go figure. 1

I used the baby oil on my dash and doors but it left a sort of foggy film or residue on my windshield. Also it dried up after a day or two. I wonder if straight glycerin would be any better or worse for the dash.

Another vote AGAINST and sort of Armor-All. Leave that for the crappy full-service car washes and dealers. I've heard many, many horror stories about it, particularly from classic car junkies (had a '73 Olds Cutlass before my Q) A mild dish detergent is your best bet. For leather, I always use Meguiar's. (Then again, I use Meguiar's for just about everything).
