LOL - Yep. I could give a rat's arse about the previous owner.

I'm more interested in the low miles and the custom goodies....

that grill on the front is way cooler than the badge on the early year Qs. The giant exhaust pipe is h0m0 though.

Isn't black on black kinda rare for early Q? All the black ones I see have grey interiors.

Wow! Fast response from the seller:

"The car has been repainted from dark grey to black. The engine has been replaced. The odometer has been changed to reflect the engine's mileage. The vehicle runs, but given its thin profile tires, large rims, and stiff racing suspension, it has a bouncing effect. The title is clear, in that I just bought the vehicle and am in the process of having the pink slip changed over to my name with the DMV through AAA. There is no certification, but I have all the corresponding paperwork. I can take more pictures of whatever part of the vehicle you want. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the electronics."

What pics to you want to see?

I am asking what the original mileage is.

Ewwwww.

Sounds like a poorly-maintained POS with a pretty face.

Repaint = bad.Odo tampering = bad."Racing suspension"(?) = bad.Title issues = bad.

Price should be dropped to reflect all this.

Has the seller responded with how many miles total on the car? That's the important question, if it has a new motor then what if it really might be under 100k on the car, suddenly it's a good deal. The Lambo makes me wonder, this could be a guy with more money than brains, who would not give up on the car when the engine blew. It's not a bad car until the total miles on the car are determined, and it certainly looks good as if it's been cared for. Odds are it's on Ebay, so it's not good, a really good car at this price level would be snapped up by a friend, but maybe.....maybe....and the 90's are the best of breed.

Oh, one more thing, anybody ever read the article in one of the car mags about the Gen 1 Q that Infiniti built for Geoff Brabham? It looked just like this car with the grill and even the wheels, it had the complete Stillen system of mods intake, rear axle, ecu, tcu, exhaust, and a full nitrous system, hmmmm....I'm gonna go see if I can find that old mag, can you guys imagine how cool it would be to find that car?

The seller responds really fast, and sounds like a legit seller. Here's the response to my inquiry:

"I've got court tomorrow (I'm a criminal defense attorney), but I'll try to get those pictures up by tomorrow night. I think the chassis has about 140K miles on it. I have what has been told to me is the paperwork for the engine and transmission. The japanese mechanic who originally owned the vehicle is the one who ordered and received the parts, so the actual paperwork is minimal. I don't know about the timing chain, but did the 1990's have the timing chain issue or not?

I'd appreciate you passing this info on to NICO if possible. I tried to access the site to help me buy a Q, but couldn't figure it out. I bought the car, because I thought it was really slick, with all sorts of aftermarket additions. But when I drove it home, my wife flipped, because she didn't want to be driving around our newborn in such a tricked out vehicle. Oh, the lessons a new father learns.

don landis[email protected]" I have asked for several pictures of the engine, intake, close-ups of the wheels/brakes/struts, doorjambs, and trunk.

Maybe I'm an ebay wussy, but I've got my doubts.

Funny how none of the interior shots have any/enough of the door jambs to see the paint work.

Funny how a sweet ride like this with only 60K on the motor has no under hood shots???

I would swear the first time I looked at it, they weren't "Zoom" rims??

Funny that a defense attorney has time to respond quickly with info, but nothing real (pics).

And how hard was it for any of you guys to get to/log on to NICO the first time?

Just one Doubting Thomas' thoughts.

Side note, I've seen a site that offers the faux grill's to help update the look of the early Q's.

Is that a badge that says INFINITI on the top right of the trunk?? Crappy laptop screen :(

I am fishy about this one...... I would be fishy of a replaced engine, unless it was done under warranty and/or all the paperwork was evident...... Replaced engines to me mean that the car was treated horribly!!!

Just asking the tough questions to help someone think before dropping the cash.

It could very well be a great deal on a great car.

Ahh the South... We close for everything. It's not uncommon for several businesses in the small towns around Columbia to close for a few weeks around July 4th for a big family vacation. Frustrating as hell when you drive out to BFE Leesville SC for BBQ and find the doors locked and the buffett cold!
